Soft material allows for inconsistant spacing
I will not use these to install my tile floor unless absolutely necessary. (If I can't find harder ones) While dry fitting and spacing my tiles, I happened to notice that these spacers will "squish" and can be compressed. I am not sure, but they may be designed that way for ease of removal, but the problem remains, namely that you may get inconsistent spacing between your tiles, especially with larger 12x12 tiles that need to be "slid" into place. They also seem to be a little short for thicker 1/4" tiles. If your tiles are pillow topped (slightly rounded edges) they tend to fall over easier and need to stood back up. These things are fair at best. If you've never tiled before, I agree with the other reviewer. You should buy something else. The last thing you need is crooked grout lines. That would look terrible. Wouldn't it be better if you could tell everyone.... "Yes I did the tile myself !!!" and be proud of it?

Difficult product to use.
1/8 in. spacing turned out too close, and hard to keep the tiles in line. The soft plastic spaced at times woul give under compression ant throught the 1/8 in. spacing out of allignment. This is not an easy product for good result for novices. It probably works great for pros. The 3/16 in. product yielded much more a satisfing results, and was easier to use.

Bag should say "an assortment of spacers". I spent hours laying out my tiles and it just did not look right. After investigating my tiles and other things I found the size of the spacers varied from about ,0995" to about .1325". That is more than a 30% variance. Pick and measure these spacers before using.

These spacers are O.K. for the floor, but compress under the weight of large tile in a wall application. I was doing a shower surround with porcelin 12" by 24" tiles.

Spacers are not all the same size.
I'm glad these were a "just in case" add-on because the consistency between thicknesses is disturbing. A lot of them are cut on an angle so they were too thick on one side and too thin on the other. Would have been a lot of digging through the bag if I had really needed these.

I found that many of the spacers are 'close to' 1/8in. but result in a wider spacing. Look at them carefully before using because the way many of them are cut they are bent, misshaped enough that they don't give a 1/8in space between tiles. It is real noticeable when you have a 'good' and 'bad' spacer under a tile - you can see that it is lined up crooked. I've had fewer issues with wider spacers like 3/16in so maybe the 1/8in size is just harder to create uniformly. Maybe there is another manufacturer that does a better job.
