27 in. Rip and 20 in. Diagonal Professional Porcelain Tile Cutter - Product information

The QEP 10800 Professional Tile Cutter is a multi-purpose cutter for most ceramic and porcelain tile up to 27 inches in length. This cutter has Ishii engineering with a wide cast aluminum alloy base with heavy rubber pads for cutting stability, dual chrome-plated rail bars and linear ball bearing slides for smooth scoring. The 7/8 inch titanium-coated tungsten-carbide ball bearing cutting wheel is designed for long lasting performance even when scoring hard porcelain tiles. The wheel is adjustable to 4 different heights to move out of the way and allow easy snapping. The large, high-leverage bicycle grip handle makes repeat cutting easier and reduces fatigue. The base includes side arm extensions to support large format tiles.

  • Wide, die-cast aluminum alloy base with heavy-duty rubber pads
  • Replaceable 7/8 in. Titanium-Coated tungsten carbide cutting wheel

no for porcelain
Each 17 3/8 tile i attempted to cut was a fail. Straight for about 10” then veered off into a mess.

Cuts bowed at center
I am a profesional tile setter. Originally I was going to buy a more expensive (by about $175) and well known brand of tile cutter in the tile industry but my friend told me this worked just as well. Also I read reviews in other sites that were good and saw a youtube video showing how well it worked. Mistake. This breaker does not cut straight , all the pieces it cut were bowed in the center. The larger the tile, the more it bowed. Also of square by about 3/32". Its ok for floors where its going to get covered by baseboard. But if the cut is up against another tile (like where two shower wall meet) or up against a tub or cabinet it is noticable. Also, because it cutts bowed, you cannot use it to cut larger tile into small tiles for shower floors (ie 12'x12' into 3"x3"). If you want a breaker for just floors this is a good breaker. I used it to cut 7/16" thick 20"x 20" tile and it cut it easily. The smallest I was able to get it to cut were 5/8" strips from a tile. I also used it on 3/8" thick 6"x6" tile and it cut them well, no chips. I recommend it only for floors or for small tiles 6" or less where it doesn't bow as much. Also the 7/8' replacement scoring wheels that homedepot sells that say are for QEP breakers are not for this particular model, which sucks. I bought one a home depot thinking that the wheel was what was making it cut bowed . That's when I noticed that the center of the wheel are different. To get a replacement wheel, you have to order from a online tile store at about $24 each plus shipping.

Excellent tile cutter
This is the first time that I buy a professional tile cutter, since I had to cut 18 x18 inch tiles diagonal. The cutter is well manufactured, a strong design and easy to use. The cutting wheel is adjustable in depth and after some practice all tiles snap as they supposed to. It is the ideal tool to cut tiles up to 28 x 28 inches or 20 inch under 45 inches.

Great tile cutter, good price
We put down 4,300 sq ft of 24 X 24 tile and this worked great. The tile companies sell their similar cutter for twice the price. This is the 6th house we have tiled but the first with 24x24 tile, so we had to buy a larger cutter.
