The previous owners let the house freeze, which destroyed the old cast iron heating system. I had been heating with wood, until I put in a new natural gas boiler. I removed the cast iron and installed PEX, in the ceiling joists of my unfinished basement, for radiant heat. Running PEX to the second floor would be much more complicated and expensive. My second floor is bedrooms and a bathroom, and with the rising heat, it is now just a little cooler than the first; which is great for sleeping, but I wanted the bathroom warmer ...
This was a cheap and easy solution! I planned on re-tiling the bathroom floor. So, this version was perfect. The bathroom is small. This runs from the shower to the sink, and is wide enough to get in front of the toilet. Basically, no cold feet.
FYI ... QuietWarmth makes this for floating floor, tiled floor and retrofit, in varying lengths and widths. Make sure you choose the right one, and you can cut it down if it is too long.

The peel and stick works great. It is somewhat easy to install. The peel and stick was the easy part but my friend helped me with the wiring. Once the floor was down I put tile over it. I used this in my master bathroom and I really love it. I live in Wisconsin and bathroom floors are always cold in the winter. Uses 165 watts and I didn’t notice an increase cost on my utility bill. Would love to do my other bathroom now!

I've been using radiant heat under my flooring as I've remodeled or built additions for a few years now. I have a small lake house that I've been remodeling since I now live in it year round which includes our very cold winters.
I've been aggravated with other heat film because it curled up on me and you needed to have another person to help or weights that would keep it down. This peel and stick heat film works great! I found it very easy to install on the floor (I had an electrician wire the thermostat to this film). I used tile over this film but you can use glue down flooring as well according to the label. According to the product manual (picture of page attached) you CAN NOT use vinyl or linoleum floor coverings with this QuietWarmth Peel & Stick Radiant Heat.
I have attached pictures to this review showing do's & don'ts of this heat film to make it easier to answer any questions you may have before purchasing this product. I also attached a picture of the part that peels off the film to stick it on your floor. For DIY installation, I highly recommend this heat film.

I ordered two of these for heating our bathrooms. I started with the small one for the half bath under the stairs. I learned a few things that helped with the later larger project. Please read the reviews for this product as well as watch the installation video as it will really help you in your installation. You want to get this right the first time. If you are able to lay down some sort of insulating material or radiant barrier before installing this heater, it will greatly increase the amount of heat available to heat your floor/room. If it goes down directly over the concrete slab, you will waste time and energy heating that slab. Read the directions, plan your installation, read the directions again and do a dry lay out to see how it fits. It seems like a pain but the results are worth it!

5 ft. x 36 in. x 0.03 in. 120-Volt Peel and Stick Radiant Heat Film for Tile and Glue-Down Floors (Covers 15 sq. ft.) Took me a while to get to this project. Also needed to find the correct thermostat-- which I oddly found same brand on clearance at my local HD for $30. I watched all the videos (even for other brands) and made sure I had the separate AC circuit. Maybe a little extra sweaty palms when I started to install-- but the install was so anti-climatic that felt a little foolish when I was done for worrying so much. The result is a nice warm floor in Minnesota. I have not been able to really notice an impact on my electric bill so far, but my AC consumption varies a lot anyway.

I am really falling in love with radiant floor heating. This is the second time we have installed it, this time we put it in the entry in which we installed a new laminate wood flooring. I love the fact that it is peel and stick, which makes the installation so easy. This particular entry was always a problem area, for some reason it always was very chilly and since I like to walk barefoot even in the winter time, now I have no ice cold floor but a toasty warm one to walk on. Fabulous, and not expensive to use on top of it.
Thanks for a truly great product!

QuietWarmth makes a good quality solution. This is the second product from them that I’ve worked with, the first being for floating floors. The adhesive underside makes this even easier to install because it stays in place instead of trying to curl up. The build and product quality are top notch, which is obvious from the first moment you have it in hand. Their installation videos and instructions are great. How much does it cost to run this mat? I pay $0.06/kWh. This mat consumes 180W. Assuming you run this 24 hours a day for 30 days, that’s $8 for the month. Using the thermostat to time it would cut the cost, but this is not a lot of power used! I wouldn’t be surprised if most new homes don’t have this type of heating. It just makes sense, taking the edge off the cold(er) floor.

This is a great product. The manufacturer has really thought through the details. The pad is peel and stick so there are no staples to mess with and once installed the pad stays put. Tiling over the pad was no problem. It's very thin and takes the thinset well. This pad is rated at about 165 watts so it doesn't cost a lot to use.
I have used a few products from other manufactures but this one was the easiest to install and get working. Radiant flooring will cost a bit more to install than other types of heating but none will heat the tile as evenly. On cold mornings my bathroom floor is nice and warm.
