Create a custom granite countertop or give walls and floors a dramatic update with the 12 in. x 12 in. Black Galaxy Polished Granite Tile from MSI. It's peppered with fiery golden flakes in random patterns to give your expanse a unique appearance and a refined aesthetic suitable for residential and commercial applications. This natural stone tile is unglazed with a high-sheen, polished finish that is easy to care for and works equally well outside because of its frost-resistant composition. NOTE: Inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer. After installation, vendor disclaims any liabilities.

The tiles "would be" beautiful if they were not cracked....
The tiles "would be" beautiful if they were not cracked. They aren't carried in store, so I could not buy them without ordering. I first ordered 4 boxes. I was able to use only 20 of the 40 tiles that I received. The others were broken, chipped and cracked. So I sent back two boxes and reordered. The next two boxes were better cushioned, but I still wanted to examine them before leaving the store this time. This time I found at least 3 tiles were obviously damaged. (some cracks are hard to see unless you have them in certain light. The customer service rep made some calls, and was able to get a "discount" for me on those 3 tiles. I accepted because I needed to finish the project, and felt I could probably use those for ones I had to cut anyway. We installed them in a very well-lit room. Now that the jobs is nearly done, I can see cracks in at least two tiles. It might be that as the adhesive dried there was a minute shift (which is normal in laying tile) and the cracks I didn't see before have become visible. However they are now glued down, and I'm just not able to deal with removing and replacing them. The tiles themselves are beautiful, but if you can't find them in your local store, I would not advise ordering them.

We were installing the counter-top and had to look for someone to polish the edge on those that would be visible as we didn't have a system for polishing. An additional expense and time factor. Recommend the advertisement also include this information.

These "granite" tiles are actually gabbro by composition, which is a close cousin if basalt! Nev...These "granite" tiles are actually gabbro by composition, which is a close cousin if basalt! Nevertheless, they are similar to granite for the properties that are required for flooring and walls (e.g., durability, cutting, installation) . The tiles from HD are better quality, more consistent, and look nicer than those from other vendors. And as an added bonus, they were a bit less expensive than anyone else.
We purchased 15 cases to redo our counter tops. I cannot truly begin the install as I need to wait for warmer weather because all tiles that are along the edges will be beveled and polished using water and is an outdoor project. Enclosed pic shows "dry" fitting.

Great ValueGreat value. Received 3 cracked tiles out of 7 boxes which I cut and used for edge pieces. These tiles are good quality. You can't beat the price especially with free shipping.
