I have a 1970s split level with a fireplace up and down. The bricks just out randomly and in some distant past, someone knocked the face of one off, leaving the broken brick. I chisled out the broken piece, slapped some mortar in the hole and laid the brick flat in. The brick is painted so no color matching needed. Love it so much I'm going to knock off all the others and do the same thing! Arrived in time, no broken pieces! Watch that u measure your brick faces as they come in different sizes.

Great for surfacing areas that need a little aesthetic upgrade. We used ours for a fireplace hearth and it turned out pleasantly well. The only complaint would be that some corners are not perfectly square so if the brick flats were to be dry stacked(no grout lines) small gaps would be noticeable. However the gaps are not too bad. I used a tile saw to square them up and to make other cuts. The brick stood up really well to chipping when cut. Also, I used heavy duty construction adhesive applied with a calk gun instead of using messy mortar and that worked really well. No mixing involved. Now my wife wants me to cover other areas of the house too and so we got more. Good luck with your project.

The colors were beautiful, 7 boxes with only one broken brick, no flaws! My suggestion is take every very distinct brick and plan to spread them out over the project, if they end up too close together, your eye can go to them. Also use a SEALER before you Grout to ease in Grout clean-up!!!!

I created the perfect wood stove pad with these bricks. They were super easy to cut with a $10 blade in my grinder. They look like standard brick, but so easy to work with. I purchased 3 boxes, had them shipped to my house and only had 1 broken brick.
