The medium sheen and random shade variation of this MSI Ivory 12 in. x 12 in. Travertine Floor and Wall Tile offers a rustic appeal with beige tones that blends well with a variety of decorating schemes for flexible design options. The semi-vitreous tile is suitable primarily for indoor use and is designed to accommodate a wide range of applications, including floors, wall coverings and decorative accents and counter installations. Being highly skid resistant, the tile is recommended for commercial applications to meet ADA requirements. Note: Inspect all tiles before installation. Natural stone products inherently lack uniformity and are subject to variation in color, shade, finish, etc. It is recommended to blend tiles from different boxes when installing. Natural stones may be characterized by dry seams and pits that are often filled. The filling can work its way out and it may be necessary to refill these voids as part of a normal maintenance procedure. All natural stone products should be sealed with a penetrating sealer.

Looks fantastic!
As other reviewers mentioned, there is a lot of variation in the tiles -- sometimes even within the same box. But travertine is a natural product. If you want uniformity, go with ceramic or porcelain. We bought several boxes, and then laid the backsplash out, moving the tiles around so that we had a good variety of the varying appearances all over. It looks so great! It was fairly easy to install, though I realized we should have gotten 2 or 3 bags of spacers instead of only 1 -- we had to take spacers out of one spot to reuse somewhere else before it was all dry, and as a result had a few tiles slide down a little bit. But it's hardly noticeable.
Note, if you go with travertine tile, you won't be able to use the tile cutter that scores and snaps the tiles. You will need a wet saw. We got one that was easy to use and inexpensive, and it did the trick.

The tile was in fair condition. The problem was the tile was previously purchased, picked throug...The tile was in fair condition. The problem was the tile was previously purchased, picked through and all of the darker tile was pulled out and then returned to the store. Some of the tile also had pencil marks and thinset on them. All of the tile I received was of the darker variation instead of a mix, so the ivory travertine was not really ivory - it was more of a noche. The boxes were also falling apart and moldy and had obviously sat in someone's garage for many months. I was unable to use the product and had to make another trip to return what I had just picked up. I appreciate Home Depot's easy return policy, but any opened product should be inspected to make sure that it is what is advertised before it is placed back on the shelf.

Therefore, I must have tiles that are in really great condition...no chips, no cracks, good color, etc. Unfortunately, that's not easy to find. I will continue purchasing these tiles from Home Depot as I can't find any other company that sells them!

Would have given it 5 stars but some pieces are out of square. I had a few pieces that were about a quarter inch out, completely unusable. Thickness also varies but only by a mm or less.

Looks nice in my shower. Not finished installing it...Looks nice in my shower. Not finished installing it yet. Make sure you buy extra, some broken and chipped tiles after opening boxes, and some tiles a lot darker color, not really matching with the lighter tiles.
