Built as good as it gets...
This tool is easily one of the most robust and well built flooring tools on the market today. It's been dropped off the back of the truck, run hard for huge jobs, and beat up pretty good - not one issue. Been running it the past month straight and not had a single jam.
The tool does well in different flooring thicknesses as well and drives staples accurately and with consistent depth. No need to worry about damaging your finish on a floor, as this comes with a wheeled "prefinished flooring" base.
Rumor has it that they developed this off of the legendary Bostitch MIIIFS, and so far it has not disappointed! I expect to have this tool for many years to come. Well worth the investment!

great
This is a good-quality flooring stapler aimed at the DIY'er and professional that occasionally lays wood flooring. Staples are cheaper than the other option which are cleats and that is money in your pocket whether you are an installer or doing the work on your own home yourself.
I'm not very impressed with the instructions but between them and the Home Depot website I can pretty much figure out everything I really need to know, though it left some to be desired. Assembly was alright and using it is pretty standard. I have used cleats before but not staples. They seem to hold fine and there is some debate of the pros and cons between the two, which is your responsibility to educate yourself with. Right now we are in the middle of nailing down 1/2" thick oak that is 1-1/2" wide in a historic home and it has worked flawlessly.
The construction seems to be of quality materials including the hardwood handled hammer, it comes with shims and accessories to switch between finished/prefinished wood flooring, the thickness (1/2" to 3/4"), and loads stapes easily. If you have used nail guns before and have installed baseboard or anything like that, you can figure out how to lay flooring with this stapler without too much trouble and a little research.

Great (apparently rebranded) floor stapler
This pneumatic-assist flooring stapler is a professional-grade tool made for a very specific reason, and to understand why it’s on sale and whether you want to buy it, I unfortunately really have to give you a lot of background that’s only tangentially related to this tool.
So to get the basics out of the way: your primary use for this is going to be to staple in 1/2-inch, 5/8-inch, or, most commonly, 3/4-inch unfinished or pre-finished American hardwood flooring. You probably do not need this particular stapler versus others unless you want to use a professional-grade tool, and you probably won’t care too much about using a professional-grade 15.5 gauge flooring stapler unless you’ve already laid down a lot of hardwood flooring. In that case, you’ll care a lot.
This is not the stapler you will most want to use if you’re putting in a Brazilian walnut, bamboo or some other exotic floor. Really, for engineered flooring, where you get a slice of the flooring you want glued over a base of other material, I would say this isn't the best tool, although it’s quite serviceable. For thinner exotic flooring in the 3/8-inch to 1/2-inch range, this clearly isn’t the best tool for the job (go with a good 18-gauge nailer). If you need a flooring nailer to drive in floor CLEATS, this machine will only do staples.
(Now, we don't use regular nails in flooring nailers nowadays, we use "cleats," but we don't call the machines that drive them in "cleaters," because, well, that would be weird, right?)
Getting back on track, when it comes to 1/2-inch, 5/8-inch or the more common 3/4-inch American hardwood flooring, this pneumatic-assist stapler will do a world-class job. Buy it, put it together, follow the directions for use conscientiously, and you won’t be disappointed. If you are a DIYer, it will help you do a great job. If you are a hopeful professional, you can rely on it. If you are an established professional, you’ll have to use it for a while and see if it fits your work requirements. It probably will.
----------------------
And now, to the strange meat of this review:
For quite some time now, one of the top professional choices for putting in 3/4-inch American hardwood flooring has been 15.5 gauge staples driven by the Bostitch Mark III flooring stapler. It’s a proven design that does a precision job very well and shoots cheaper staples instead of pricey cleats. The better your stapler does the job, the less waste you have to deal with, the faster you will finish the job, and the more money you will make overall. It’s a straightforward calculation. Another argument for staplers versus nailers other than the cost calculation is that the crowns of flooring staples resist shifting, and thus the minor extractions that lead to creaking wood floors, better over the long run than the heads of flooring cleats. This may or may not be true – it’s an industry-wide debate.
Bostitch is owned by a company called Stanley Bostitch, or rather, these days, by the tool giant known as Stanley Black & Decker, Inc.
This is a DeWalt-branded stapler, and DeWalt is Black & Decker’s “professional-grade” line. But DeWalt and Bostitch are ultimately both owned by Stanley Black & Decker, Inc.
As far as I can tell, this is EXACTLY the same stapler as the Bostitch off the same production line, but done up in DeWalt colors and with matte paint on the body instead of the glossy finish of the Bostitch. A straightforward rebranding effort. The thing is even stamped “Model MIII” in the same place, the branding plates on the magazine and handle for “Bostitch” are in the same place (but not stamped). The handle attachment is the dead giveaway – it’s the same weird adjustable screw-and-brace arrangement as the Bostitch, and the third-rate instructions still give no mention of how to attach it, even though it’s pretty easy to figure out.
One of the instruction illustrations is even exactly the same as those currently sold with the Bostitch…oh, that was funny when I figured it out.
One big difference is that the mallet handle has been changed to what looks to be an oak handle, the mallet now apparently sold with the consumer-grade cheaper stapler/nailer Bostitch combo unit instead of the old heavy-duty graphite-shaft mallet that used to be sold with the stapler, although the basic design remains the same. Going to have to take it easier beating in bowed boards now...but I might end up liking the oak handle more in the long run, who knows?
This unit comes with the Bostitch factory-finished flooring adapter, now rebranded and sold as the “DeWalt pre-finished flooring kit.”
Is this a trial balloon? Will the MIII henceforth only be sold under the DeWalt name? We’ll know soon enough, I guess.
So, to sum up, this seems to be a rebranded version of one of the best flooring staplers made for professional use. It will work best for 3/4-inch American hardwood. There you go, and good luck with it.

Tight and Fast
The DEWALT Pneumatic Flooring Stapler is a high quality tool. It has a great feel and is easy to position for a tight and fast hardwood floor installation. It comes with multiple foot attachments for installing different thickness flooring and also one for pre-finished flooring. These are simple to switch out. It also comes with a sturdy striking harmer which has a good weight for a long install day. This is a great tool for the flooring Pro or a DIYer who is converting a large home to hardwood.

Fantastic Tool
This tool works great. If you plan to install hardwood flooring, this is the tool for you. The large foot accessory is set up for pre-finished hardwood, and in my opinion, the only way to go. A slight tap is all that's required to fully seat the staples, yet tool is durable enough to withstand anything you can hit it with. This is handy for those warped boards. It has performed flawlessly every time I used it.

Solid, well designed and well made tool
I bought the Dewalt stapler to install 2,000 SF of engineered hardwood flooring, which I have never done before. It takes a little practice to get the hang of it, but the tool performs consistently well. I found it only takes 65 PSI to drive 1.5 inch staples through the tongue of the hardwood and into my OMB subfloor. If you decide to put your own hardwood flooring down, this is the tool you need!
