Good product, needs more specific instructions
Pretty decent product. Worked well at helping me maintain the correct pitch but, if you are screed-challenged like I am, I recommend placing the sticks about a foot apart rather than the recommended 2 to 2 1/2 feet apart (unless you are using a really long screeding tool). Also, the videos and written instructions really should spell out for the casual DIY-er what they mean by "properly prepared subfloor". In my case, I have a plywood subfloor and initially poured my concrete right on it. Turns out I need a layer of roofing felt and a layer of metal lath and THEN the Pre Pitch sticks and the concrete. I didn't learn this til a few hours AFTER I had poured that layer so I had to dig it up... Moral of the story: watch every single video multiple times and read every single FAQ section multiple times. The vids and the FAQs are not very consistent in the info they include so if you miss one vid/question, you may miss a really important nugget.

An easy way to get your pre pitch slope perfect. I've used the Goof Proof system multiple times now and it works great. One tip.... I no longer use the screws that come with the kit because it is too easy to overtighten them when installing over metal lath. Instead I use a #8 galvanized nail with a head small enough to recess into the screw pockets on the rails. This method prevents the pre-pitch rails from bowing. The 8d nails that are stocked in the framing hardware section at Home Depot are perfect.

I used the pre-pitch, quick pitch, weep hole protector and curb kit. These were essential for me as a DIYer to get a professional end result. I'd highly recommend the entire system to anyone looking for a perfect shower pan and curb system installation that meets code.
Making a shower pan is still very hard work but this system eliminates much of the stress associated with a DIYer's lack of experience - especially if you watch the Goof Proof Youtube videos.
Also on the Goof Proof website there is a support phone number if you have any questions. In my case I did and they answered right away and were very helpful. Great product and people that will support your installation.

Does what it promises -- very well
I'd heard about these online, but was unable to find locally (Seattle area) -- not even at Home Depot. Allowed me to easily set the slope for pre-pitch in my shower.
Note that you need both pre-pitch and quick-pitch for a complete solution: this was not clear in the write-ups that I found online.
My two complaints: (a) very expensive for a few hunks of plastic, and (b) could do with at least 2 more angled rails (they ship 6, really needs 8).

Super time saver for custom shower pans
Okay, for this project we decided that most prefab shower pans are too boring. But on top of that, they seem super expensive considering the materials they are made from and the manufacturing casting process. Anyway we decided to match the curve of the curb side to the curve of our (you guessed it) curved shower curtain rod. Pre-Pitch allowed us to keep the mud pan thin so that the build up to the main floor was minimal. The Pre-Pitch extensions allowed us to run the pan area out 5ft. Probably the only elegant solution at this price point. Shipping was quick from Home Depot, so there was little delay.

Easy System for Shower Perfection
Use this with Quick Pitch and you get a perfect slope to drain. Make sure you make your mud semi dry otherwise the mud will try to seek a level point. You do not want that.

Excellent idea but poor engineering, execution and instructions.
Excellent idea but poor engineering, execution and instructions. Only 11 screws are provided for 6 strips? The screw hole spacing on each strip is on 3" centers. Which 2 holes or hole do you put screws in? Even if just using 2 screws per strip, you would still need 12 screws and that isn't nearly enough to keep the strips from wiggling.
Step 6 of the instructions tells you to "be sure screws or nails are counter sunk so they do not puncture the liner." Nails? What nails? At any rate if you use the screws provided to secure the holes nearest the drain, you soon discover the plastic strips break into two pieces before the heads of the screws are flush! The screws provided are of the countersink variety, and are not square shouldered. The countersink acts like a wedge against the square shouldered holes in the plastic and causes the plastic to split apart. Ouch!
