FIRST, I returned it BUT I think it would be fine for smaller jobs with few cuts required. My job was with 1 inch tiles and lots of cuts. For jobs with 4 inch tiles or larger, it will be faster and easier. The instructions say to only open ( remove the film ) on the area you are working on so it doesn't get wet, dirty, or dry prior to use. My job was just too time consuming for this product.

Great product, easy to use and it allows you to skip cement board and thinset mortar, which is ov...Great product, easy to use and it allows you to skip cement board and thinset mortar, which is overkill in most backsplash situations. I'd definitely recommend it, just do your homework and you'll see how much easier it is.

Installed over new sheet rock and glass tiles were falling...Installed over new sheet rock and glass tiles were falling off within 24 hours, would never buy again or recommend this product to anyone.

Not as easy to work with as hopedIf working with a small area, and no outlets or other similar obstructions, then this would be fine to work with. If using small tiles on a mesh, would be best if you only had 1 row. The material is like gum, as soon as you start to press the tile into it, you are done. No sliding them around, even if you only lightly apply them. The good thing though, is you can work at your own pace and do not have to worry about thinset setting up on you. Plus you can grout immediately after. So, there are some advantages, but found it difficult to work with as a 1st timer. If using again, would apply it in smaller sections. Tried unrolling about 9 ft. of it, sticking it up, and then cutting around outlets. Had help doing this, but still had to be very careful about it folding over on itself. Could have done better myself if just using 2-3 ft. sections of the material. If no obstructions, could work in longer sections.

Made my backsplash so easyThis tile mat made my backsplash project so much easier! I had dreaded all the surface preparation, messy and fussy mastic, and had delayed doing the job. But this was simple. Cut the mat to size, peel the backing (easy to peel as you go), and stick it to the wall. Peel again and stick the tiles on. Stick tiles on carefully & lightly and you can twist into place as long as you're close. Mat is thick so I was able to install over some small wall texturing. Still have to do the messy grouting, but with tiles already stuck, you can do that without delay. My backsplash was done in one day. Wife came home and I'm a hero. Doesn't get better than that.
