Description

1.5 ft. x 10 ft. x 0.016 in. 120-Volt Radiant Heat Film for Floating Floors (Covers 15 sq. ft.) - Product information

A gentle electric radiant heat system designed specifically for dry installation under floating wood and laminate floors. A low profile, line voltage system, it features gradual warmth from low wattage resistance heating of ultra-thin, flexible radiant heat film. Installed easily over a subfloor or over an acoustic/insulating underlayment as part of the overall floor assembly, it uses just 12 watts per square foot to gently raise the temperature of the floor, conforming to the warranty requirements of many floating floors. The system, which sports an impressive 99% efficiency, includes temperature limiting properties so the film does not overheat. Its available in four convenient rollout mat sizes that will accommodate most any layout. Each mat has wires pre-attached for ease of installation.

  • Use with most floating laminate, engineered wood and floating tile floors
  • Uses an highly-efficient conductive ink technology
  • Disperses an evenly consistent heat throughout the entire floor
  • Will not add extra height to the floor, only 0.016 in. thick
  • Consumes up to 50% less power than traditional wired systems
  • Easy to install: roll out, cut length to fit if needed and run pre-attached wires to a wall thermostat
  • No mortar and no mess
  • Conforms to many floating floor manufacturers requirements
  • Maintenance free, crafted to not completely shut down if the system should ever become compromised or damaged
  • When trimming the length, the portion of the mat that is cut off cannot be used
  • Adjust temperature with QuietWarmth Thermostat (Sold Separately)

Luxury Underfoot
I have used under floor heating from other companies, but this is the thinnest product i have ever seen and that is a great advantage. You literally roll this underlayment out over any padding you're using and install the floor. Period, no fuss, no muss.
A few things to remember:
1. This is for laminate and floating floor systems only; not for under tile (although I'm not sure why not...)
2. Put it where you will be walking and not under cabinets, other furniture or heavy carpeting because the heat will just be trapped and not appreciated.
3. Don't expect the floor to be hot, it is a gentle warmth; probably not good to heat the room unless it's super insulated.
4. You can add extra sections to cover a larger area; just plan carefully so the wires and thermostat are lined up and easy to install.
5. If putting over concrete floor I would recommend an insulation pad under the heating element so the concrete doesn't suck up all the heat.
6. Don't put this under a nailed in flooring; seems obvious because nails would short out the element.

Toasty bathroom floor
This is basically the same review I wrote for the 3' X 10" radiant heat film that I used under our laminate in the bath/shower area of our bathroom. I used this 1.5 ft. X 10 ft. in front of the double vanity and doorway in the same bathroom. The floor heaters do a great job of warming (not heating) the floor. They tqke the chill out of the laminate that is installed over a concrete slab. They do not warm the bathroom, only the flooring. I have a HVL to actually heat the bathroom.
Installing the actual mats is very simple. They're very simple to lay out under the laminate flooring. Installing and wiring the thermostat is more time consuming than the mats. The mats must be connected to a special thermostat designed for them. Once connected, the flooring temperature can be selected.
I'm happy with the installation. A little luxury in the master bath is nice. I was a little stressed about the longevity of the mats until my wife reminded me that, if they fail, we'll still have what we had before--unheated floors--nothing less, nothing more!

Nothing Like Warm Feet !!!
Nothing Like Warm Feet on a cold rainy day !!!This is a great project for anyone from beginner to advanced, If you can install snap lock flooring, You can install this heat system.
1. install padding
2. start to install flooring
3. slide heat mats under flooring with electrical leads directed at location of thermostat.
4. finish floor
5. run 110V power to thermostat box
6. connect wires
7, ENJOY !!!! Look at my pics and you can see the ease of hook up. I installed 2 pads under my floor and all I had to do was connect the lead wires, power and sensor wires to the thermostat and I was done.
the heat mats came on quickly and brought the temperature of the floor from 68 to 75 in less than 10 minutes.... Installation is simple, quick and easy and the product should last a long time as there is hardly anything to go wrong with it. As well as being at a reasonable price.....

Second Bath Remodel and Second Time Choosing QuietWarmth Radiant Heat
We went with the QuietWarmth radiant heat system in our main bath remodel for its energy efficiency and easy install. The film was super easy to handle and install. The integrated fiber in the super thin film didn't add to floor depth and can be trimmed to fit with scissors. It couldn't be easier to install. So when it came to our lower bath, there was no question what radiant heat system we would use. We used the programmable thermostat in the upper bath and in the lower bath we installed the nonprogrammable thermostat. With cold weather approaching, we're all set with cozy warm floors. We highly recommend QuietWarmth!

What a luxury - heated bath floors !
This is the ultimate luxury - heated bathroom floors. This was more than I thought I could handle by myself, so I recruited the help of an electrician friend for the installation. Since this was in a new bath, and flooring had not yet been installed, it was fairly easy to install. Went right under my floating tile flooring - so thin, it did not add any measurable height to the floor. A thermostat was not included so that had to be purchased separately. The end result is a beautifully heated floor - no more cold feet. After the initial installation, I feel confident I can do the next one without help. Highly recommended !

Warm, Toasty Floors
This is a luxurious yet affordable upgade, especially if you are planning on putting in new floors anyway. There are videos to help with installation. I have minimal experience working with electrical projects, but by reading the instructions and watching the helpful videos, I was able to install the necessary junction box, thermostat, and run the wires from 2 heating mats to the thermostat in an existing home where we were redoing the floors. It is helpful to install an underlayment barrier under the Quiet Warmth roll; that way you can cut channels into the underlayment where the wires run across the floor to the wall where the thermostat is installed. Otherwise the wires, though they are small, might be felt under the flooring (we put in luxury vinyl planks; wires might not be as noticeable under harder wood or laminate.) These rolls are super easy to cut with sharp scissors to get them just the right size for your project. Once installed, use the thermostat to control the temperature; the rolls give off a nice warm touch from the floor, removing the chill, and help to keep the room they are installed in warmer. We are very happy with them.

As part of my kitchen remodel I'm installing radiant heat under luxury vinyl flooring. I've never...
As part of my kitchen remodel I'm installing radiant heat under luxury vinyl flooring. I've never done this before and I am by no means an expert. Knowing that here are my observations/experiences so far. The instructions are clear and straightforward. The folks at Quiet Warmth were easily accessible by phone and provided helpful answers to of layout and installation questions I had. I used five mats for my project and it took me all of a day to pre-test the mats, install install them and wire up the system to the thermostat. Trimming individual mats to needed sizes is easy and accomplished with regular old kitchen scissors. The mats were secured with a few pieces of heavy duty tape and 3/16" staples. I ran the leads through holes drilled in the subfloor and joined them with a couple of wago connectors to the thermostat wires in an electrical box mounted in the basement ceiling joists. The instructions were adamant about running the system after all connections are complete prior to flooring installation. Good idea - I ran the heat over night and all was well. All in all a very doable D-I-Y project but I did have my electrician install a new breaker and check my handiwork. My only concern is the lack of underlayment (none is used under the luxury vinyl tile we've chosen). Time will tell. Since I used several different sized Quiet Warmth mats for my project I am using the same review for each product. My experience with each size was identical - positive.

Really HOT product for warming a space and saving money!
We plan to use 4 of these to create a toasty sitting area in our family room. We are in the middle of our remodel but have read through the instructions and this seems to be really easy to install and with the thermostat it can handle up to 4 heat films on one circuit. Isn't recommended for under tile floors, only laminate or floating floor. Only uses 12 watts per square foot for energy saving warmth without having to run the heater as much. The great thing about radiant heat is it heats your floor, and your furnitrue which holds the heat in as opposed to just heating the air. I can't wait to use this once the temperatures drop this fall.
