They nailed it with this tool
If you have a number of L-cleats, T-cleats, or staples to drive, then tool will save you time, and save you strain on your back.
Whilst not as compact as some models I have used, the tool feels well balanced and is easy to position. Given its size, I found it to be very lightweight, lighter than the last tool I rented.
To load, you just swing open the side arm. Clearing jams is simple (the jams I had were of a result of hitting a hidden nail and not the tool itself).
The included fiberglass mallet provide nice positive feedback, its lightweight makes using it on larger jobs less tiring, and I never once experienced a soft strike.
The tool is supplied with both 1/2 in. and 3/4 in foot plates, and even the allen wrenches needed to change them. They also provide safety goggles and a small bottle of air tool oil.
Renting tools is a real pain. You are always a little leery the tool was cared for by its previous renters. Will you have enough time to complete the job without rushing. Will you have time to return it to the rental shop before they close.
Why rent when you can buy?

The unit arrived on time in perfect condition. It came...The unit arrived on time in perfect condition. It came with a detailed and quick guide set of instructions.all set up for 3/4" flooring. Worked great, no jams. only caution BE SURE TO align nailer on floorwith BIG arrow-otherwise will staple in center of board.

Excellent cost effective purchaseI bought this flooring nailer because I wanted to install my own hardwood floors. I read the reviews that others had posted, and they were very helpful. This is my first hardwood floor install. I am retired and work at my own pace, so rental was not a feasible option. The cost of this nailer has more than paid for the expense of renting one.
It works very well, just had a little issue getting the adjustment of the foot plates correct (my flooring is 5/8"). Occasionally if you don seat it properly on the groove, the striker will mar the wood.
Yes I recommend this for a DIYer.

Quality ProductI have been a Pro-Contractor with Home Depot. I purchased the Freeman Flooring Nailer on line through Home Depot. It is a great nailer and I install a lot of flooring for my customers. Unfortunately for Home Depot, after purchasing it I came to find out that their stores DO NOT carry neither the staples or cleats that the tool uses. You can order them on line and wait for their arrival. However, when I need the fasteners, I need them now! Fortunately, my local Mennards has them as well as now, much of my contractor purchases. If Home Depot sells guns on-line, they should carry the fasteners needed in their stores.

Excellent decision.Don't lay flooring professionally, however, definitely experienced. I have used mainly used bostich till now as they always work well. Decided to give this tool a try due to the price. This was a great decision. I laid > 600sq ft of 3/4" hickory using staples with no problems. Any issues I had were mine and not the tool's. Can't go wrong with this stapler given that it works very well and has an excellent warranty.

Good nailer works greatThis 3 in 1 floor nailer worked great,,I put 3/4 maple down in our 12X21 living room without a problem. It took longer to pick out and cut the next row of flooring then it takes to put into place and nail it. The nailer never jambed and was easy to use.
