First time using these and i'll say i'm very impressed. I have a split level house, the living room/kitchen floor has a 4ft high crawl space underneath it. This crawlspace was not insulated, even the ducts did not have insulation. By the time the "hot" air went through the ducts in the crawl space to the far vents, it wasn't even "luke warm" air coming out.
I put these between my trusses against the subfloor. As these are pricey and I didn't want such a majority amount of heat coming from just the split floor and not going to the other 70% of the house, so I did it every other joist. I then put some Rockwell bats against those flush with the bottom of the joists.
All I can say is it's night and day difference. Not only that, but my furnace doesn't have to run nearly as much. The install is pretty easy. Though I would say anyone without basic DIY skills would likely have difficulty. Putting it in a crawlspace is very easy. However to install in an existing ceiling/floor would obviously be much more difficult. Talking removing drywall/insulation, putting this in, then redoing it.

Easy to install
We used this in our entry way foyer. Very easy to install and works well for our needs. We plan to expand the heated flooring into our mud room with hopes of connecting to what we have already installed. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This really helped take the chill out of our tiled bathroom floor. We recently built a house and I regretted not putting in a heated under layment before installing the tile. This was just what we were looking for to remedy that problem. Installation is a bit involved, so if you are not comfortable with running electric I would hire someone to do that. If you are familiar with that type of work you will have no problem installing this. You will need a temperature probe and a dedicated thermostat, these things are not included with this. We are happy with the performance of this retro fit floor heater. I attached this to a 10 ft panel to get the coverage I wanted. Having heated flooring is one of those things you never knew you missed until you have it.

An Excellent Upgrade To Plain Flooring
This is exactly what I needed to turn my recently laid bathroom floor into an outstanding upgrade.
The flooring had been installed a few months ago, however only took a few hours to pull up to be able to lay the Quiet Warmth Retrofit Radiant Heat Film underneath it. I acquired a digital thermostat and was able to hide the wiring behind some trim.
Now I can have a heated warm floor in my bathroom on this cold wintery nights and anytime I want.
It is incredibly relaxing, I think the bathroom is my new favorite room, thanks to this awesome upgrade.
This is my first experience using a heated underlayment system, however it will not be my last.. I am, looking to do my other bathroom the same exact way next. Then on to another room.
I am a Quiet Warmth customer for life. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I got these to install for my downstairs bathroom after installing another type under new floors. I loved these and wanted to have them in the bathroom without ripping up the floor and installing new ones. The ease of installation will depend on how easy it is for you to get to the floor joists or subfloor of your existing floor. I didn't realize how small a space I would have when doing this which is really my fault not the product. I got two of these to cover the entire area and they are easy to cut down to size if needed. I am happy with the finished floors and how nice these when the floor warms up. It does seem to take a little longer to heat the floors with these than the one's I installed directly below new flooring. I would recommend getting the thermostat to work these with as well.

This is a great product ,,, Easy To Install for any DIYer or seasoned pro,,, This Under Floor Warming Mat System installs between existing floor joists; from available crawl space or basement beneath..It also works under any type of flooring, including tile hardwood, carpets linoleum, etc....
All you do is unroll the heat mat, I found it easier if I folded the edges before putting it between the joists,
MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO NAILS poking thru the floor, they can scratch the film and break a connection causing it not to work.. I just tapped over a few nails with a hammer then staple the film as close to the sub floor (touching) as you can. You can then install or re-install your insulation.. wiring it up was fairly easy as it comes with very long leads and the instructions are well written
you will have to pick up a thermostat as one is not included. The whole installation takes about 2-3 hours if everything goes in your favor
Now I can walk into the bathroom a 2 A.M. and the floor is cozy warm... Before it was like walking on an ice pack, Also nice after you get out of the shower..The total cost is well worth the warmth and comfort as if your feet are warm your whole body stays warm.... I would recommend this to anyone who hates cold feet....

I installed this under my chicken coupe to keep the little guys warm in the winter months. It easily attached under the floor between the "joist's" and wired up to a thermostat I set up inside the coupe.
The film is very thin and has edging that folds and staples to the joist for installation. The attached wiring is long and allows for connection to a junction box.
The best part (to me) is that the film can be cut and taped off if you need to shorten the total length of a section.
I recommend this product, especially if you're adding heat to an existing floor that you don't want to rip up for under floor heating (or creating a 21st century chicken coupe :)

Good product!
I received my QuietWarmth Retrofit Radiant Heat Film about two weeks ago. I read the directions and was surprised as to how easy the installation was. The film rolled out easily as I stapled it into place between the floor joists. Even wiring it to the thermostat was fairly simple if you follow the directions and know a little bit about wiring electrical outlets. It does a good job warming the ceramic floor in my kitchen. I have not had it long enough to determine how it will affect my electric bill. If you are a DIY homeowner and want to add some heat to your floors, I recommend buying this product.
