THE BEST PADDING FOR THE MONEY
I special ordered this pad for a wall to wall install by Home Depot. They no longer carry any type of quality padding in their carpet department. This padding has a wonderful feel under foot, not too soft and definitely firm enough to support high quality carpeting (I bought the best nylon they had 60lb face weight) also pad is anti microbial and fluffs back up after furniture is moved because it is memory foam. They also did a wonderful job on the install of carpet &padding and allowed me to use this pad as part of my install because it was purchased from the depot. I had to have it on site and ready for the day of install.

"Only pad you will NEVER have to replace"!We went out of our way to find this pad years ago, when it was new on the market. We had the pad installed in a basement home theater room. The installer told us we might replace the carpet someday, but we would NEVER need to replace the pad...it's just that good! Immediately, I noticed that there was no longer a "chill" from the underlying concrete floor. What really made me a believer, was after the room was totally flooded with rainwater. We got to work suctioning the water, and drying with fans and dehumidifiers. There was no odor, and the carpet still looks like the day it was installed!

Every room is worth this padI have this pad in every room in my house. One GREAT feature is when you move furniture, your carpet "dent" goes away.

Great padding!This is the 2nd purchase of this padding. Please do go out of your way to purchase this product. Depot will install and give warranty if you have on site for your install. They previously offered this in their carpet department but now all they have is lower level/low LB weight pads. You have to order this and have ready for install day. This pad comes in different heights, hence the different color options. Check your overall height incl. carpet...Buy this you won't be disappointed. I have 1500 sf installed under carpet.

Great Padding, Bad HandlingI rate the padding as Excellent, but Home Depot as only Fair. The padding feels great! Good support. A little expensive - but if it holds up I will be very satisfied with the padding. But I will not order more padding from Home Depot. The padding arrived with the plastic wrapping ripped open, dirt everywhere on the packaging, and the end of the roll has a black area where it looks like it was dragged across the warehouse floor. I ordered the padding online and picked it up at my local Home Depot store. I should have looked more closely before I accepted delivery of the padding. But since I only need about half of the roll I can work around the worst of it. Next time I will order from the manufacturer and hope that the trucking company is a little cleaner.

nice if you can install it yourselfI was hoping to purchase this padding to go under carpet purchased at Home Depot. Home Depot refuses to install it with carpet purchased from Home Depot. Home Depot offers a lower grade "similar" pad that they will install. If you buy this carpet padding Home Depot will not install it even if you purchased your carpet from them.

Worth the Investment!Despite having to spend literally months to obtain the information I needed in order to make an informed purchase (the local store had no information and was clueless), the product, itself, is fantastic. We were nervous because we were replacing some of the most expensive, but chemically-laden, carpet padding available. While the feel is not as "squishy," we have found that we actually prefer the tight, dense foot feel of this particular padding. The icing on the cake is that there was never any chemical odor after installation.

Listing errorThe green pad is 7/16", not 1/2". This is why the white pad costs more.
