The bulk roll has a 3 in. core for hanging on a pole in a contractor warehouse or service van and unrolling exactly what is needed for the specific installation. Roberts AirGuard Premium 3-in-1 Underlayment is ideal for installing laminate and engineered wood floors. AirGuard provides the moisture barrier, sound reduction and cushioning, all 3-in-1, required for a proper, quality installation. AirGuard is the only underlayment manufactured with both Microban and air flow technology to inhibit mold growth. Microban inhibits the growth of odor and stain causing bacteria, mold and mildew. Yuck!
We had this under some laminate flooring. We are remodeling and putting down new floors. When we pulled the laminate up, the smell! It’s the musty smell. There is no mold on anything- but we are 5 days into airing out our home, Bleach mopping and Pinesol mopping and it’s lingering nicely (insert frustrated sarcasm) It’s terrible. I do not recommend.

Doesn't Work As Advertised in BasementI used this vapor barrier under my laminate bamboo flooring in my basement hoping the air flow technology as described in the description:
'The air flow technology creates a pocket of constantly circulating air to further inhibit mold growth.'
would provide an effective barrier while preventing moisture build up. The barrier was effective in keeping moisture from penetrating and reaching the floor, but there was definitely no air flow and moisture condensed under the barrier. The moisture was significant and while there may not be mold on the barrier itself there was definitely mold on the floor (typical musty basement smell). It was the musty odor smell that led us to remove the floor to determine the cause of the musty odor.
I would not recommend this product in basements. I am still figuring out what to do in the basement, but if you are weighing options checkout delta fl vapor barrier (there is actual space under the barrier where you can see how air would flow; in hindsight the manufacture claim of air flow is ridiculous).
