This is awful for high traffic rooms like living rooms and halls. It scratches very easily and is very difficult to find restoration colors or products that work. I'm upset as I need to complete my open concept with kitchen remodel and now have to change flooring as it would be awful to put good money after bad.

These wood floors look amazingThese floors look amazing and really give my home a cozy feel. The hand scrapped look and texture that each piece has really sets these floors apart from all the other floating floor material. If I had to buy flooring again, I would definitely choose this product.

It looks great!Just finished installing the Maple Platinum click floor system in our guest bedroom. It looks wonderful once finished. It is not complicated to install with the clear instructions, but it still takes two people to line up and click the boards together. We suggest investing in the little kit that includes the spacer, a tapping block and a pull bar. it is necessary to tap the boards in place for a perfect installation. It is too new to judge if it will last as long as the warranty suggests, or stay nice.

Looks good but a nightmare to installThe look and finish of the product is very good. The engineering of the "click strip" is less than desirable. I am angry with myself for not listening to what others who have tried this product have stated. This was impossible to install as instructed. The connecting joints do not fit well and most boards need to be hammered in using a scrap piece. This took an enormous amount of time and got half as much done in a day as I expected. I eventually began using a staple nailer to secure the boards; the portion I first installed was floating and creaking. I have installed other types of laminated flooring with no problems. I am also a general contractor in the business for over 35 years and I have worked with many flooring installers. I know what I am doing and would never use this product again. I now have to spend an additional day to get the job done and am not to happy about it.

Nice appearanceIt looks good in the store and on the floor. Fairly well made. It is essentially plywood with a thin hardwood veneer. It was however, not that easy to click install. There is no click feed back at all like with the cheaper laminate products. Contrary to what the instructions say, it does have to be forced together before it will lay flat. Out of 300 square feet (12 boxes worth) none of it clicked together by just engaging the long edges at 45 degrees and pressing down. A rubber mallet and standard laminate flooring install tools were required to get it to lay down.
I got unlucky and have a few areas in the floor that make creaking noise. It's more like crackling than creaking. Anyway, hoping it will some day settle down, but in the meantime it looks like we'll be buying some large throw rugs. I think the only way to avoid this crackle creak would have been to lay and glue it directly on the concrete floor and skip the underpayment. (Not such a good idea, too permanent and subject to moisture damage.) The flooring is noisy if there is any cushioning movement at all. It is a floating floor system after all, and it shouldn't make noise when it moves. Unfortunately it does.
I gave it 5 stars for appearance, because it looks good on the floor viewed from eye level. But, some of the boards were not that well finished toward the ends. The clear coat was not consistent. Also a lot of the boards have scaring/bruising from mishandling before they were clear coated. These marks appear as random dark brown lines, and are not part of the natural wood grain. I suppose this is supposed to add character, but it's caused from mishandling the wood before it was planed and sanded. Normally a carpenter or millwright would have removed these marks before cutting the finish veneer, if they noticed them. The manufacturer apparently doesn't think anyone would notice and it does get them some more mileage out of the finish wood. 45 years handling wood, you notice the little things.
I think if you can live with the fact that it doesn't click together like magic and deal with a little creaking here and there, it's the floor for you. It looks good. I was considering using this stuff through out the rest of the house, but not so sure right now. If I did, I would get it in a less flexible thickness dimension, and not get the stuff readily available in the store.

Decent productThis floor looks great. So far we have had the floor for 6 months with zero appreciable wear (and we have dogs). While it is true that the click lock mechanism is tight, I was very happy with the final result and believe that the tight joints will probably last much longer than a floor with loose joints. In fact, i was impressed by how fine the tolerances are for the click-lock mechanism. We did 1000 sq ft and never came across a board that wouldn't fit. The random lengths were more than adequate- plenty of long pieces and not too many short pieces. We chose to do a floating floor with a cork underlayment and this floor has minimal clickety-clack from walking (at least compared to laminate floors!). The instructions specify strict tolerances for floor flatness. To be honest, we didn't always meet the tolerances outlined in the instructions. Despite this shortcoming on our part, this product has been fairly quiet and not excessively flexible underfoot. In rooms where the tolerances were met, the floor is very quiet and firm. The finish looks great and holds up quite well. I have no significant complaints about this product.

Great flooring system! This flooring looks great and snaps together easily. I wasn’t sure about a floating floor system, but it looks really great and I didn’t have any trouble with the installation. It has a great warranty and it can also be refinished. I plan to continue with this product into other bedrooms.
