I was lucky to get a perfect match for my existing hardwood. The finish is little different but it blended well with my existing one. The price was the best part. I got a very good deal on this one. Totally happy :)

The floor is beautiful, very good quality overall. The only gotcha is be careful to read the full description. The finish is NOT glossy, contrary to all my other floors in the house (it's kind of like matte). I did not realize that until the floor was already partially installed. Although it feels different, the nice thing is it's not slippery, and scratches are not as visible. If you like light natural woods, I would recommend this over more expensive maple or

Excellent product. Hard finish and very attractive warm color. Bevel is not too big. Fair amount of knots but also lots of clears. Killer price for finished wood. Very happy with the product!

Purchased 9 boxes and installed 8. Truly random lengths, not just several of a common set of lengths. Varying colors made for a beautiful installation. I held back some of the more striking pieces for use in areas that would be visible after furniture and area rugs were put down.
This was the 6th click lock/tongue-groove type flooring I've put down, from the 99 cent/sq foot to various grades of laminate. I'll never go back to click/lock again unless it's for a room with very little traffic that I don't want to spend the money on. This flooring feels so much more solid underfoot and sounds so much better. It is a bit more tedious to install because it's narrow, but I was able to do a 12ft row in about 15 minutes towards the end, including selecting the boards, fitting them, and nailing them. The entire room (after prep work) required 8 days of working a couple hours every day. (I'm older and don't get up and down as easily as I used to.)
The flooring went down well, there was a very good consistency between pieces in terms of fit and width. A few were slightly smaller across the width resulting in a few areas where there is a gap than I don't like. The next room I do I will be more aware of this.
There were a few pieces that were damaged, but I was able to use them for end pieces so waste was very minimal. I calculated I would need just under 8 boxes for the room, so I ordered 9 and only ended up only using half of the 8th box (I round up when I measured and didn't take into account the door ran at a 30 degree angle to the room, so it wasn't a rectangle.) I was very careful and only miscut one board. I also only had to rip a few boards on the far wall. We like the flooring so much we are going to use it in other rooms, so we won't have to order extra from now on.
Care must be taken removing pieces from the box, it is very easy to snap off the tongue or the top or bottom of the groove. I damaged the top surface of one board being in a hurry and broke several others.
Because of the wide variation in color, I didn't bother to intermix boxes. As I opened a box, I split the box into piles of boards with similar lengths so I didn't end up with a bunch of boards about the same size. When I got down to a couple of boards in each pile, I opened the next box.
It also made it very easy to find the 'right' board when joints might line up and keep from using all of the same color tone. While doing this, I pulled out boards with the best character and reserved them for areas what won't be covered up by furniture or rugs.
A couple of tricks I learned. It can be difficult to use the crown stapler in some places and get it close to the edge because of the gap between the wall and the flooring. I cut a 1/4" and 1/2" piece of flooring and dropped it into the gap so the crown stapler safety would have something to rest against. It is also VERY important to start off straight. I had a slight bow and it took several sections of flooring to move the bow off to the end. It is also important to be consistent in your hammer blows for the flooring hammer. Several times I didn't strike it fully and ended up having to pull the staples out. I never damaged a board doing this, but it is irritating. I also didn't use knee pads, I was only working a couple of hours a day, a lot of the work can be done standing up, and the flooring wasn't that uncomfortable to kneel on.
Tools used -- Flooring nailer (highly recommended), pin nailer, crown stapler (ended up using this one more than the pin nailer), dead blow hammer, tap block, pull bar, 8 ft. straightedge, framing square, carpenters square, measuring tape, 36" steel ruler, chalk line, cross cut pliers (to pull out staples), electric flooring saw w/carbide blade, pull saw to complete cuts for doorways.
I used a Skilsaw flooring saw and found it extremely handy for this project. The only thing it couldn't do was rip long pieces at a slight angle when I got to the far wall. But I found I could hold a board against the saw bed and very carefully pull the saw across it, making small adjustments to keep it on my pencil line. Then flip it over and do it again. You won't find that in the instructions for the saw, it's probably not up to safety standards.

Pros: beautiful wood, nice variation in color, really brightens the house. Cons: dents extremely easily, anything with a corner will put a gash in the floor. Get a sample from the store, drop random items to see what damage to expect. Would not rec - go for a harder wood, would do hickory now.

The reason for the low rating is that when installing the wood at least one case, more like two cases was waste. The flooring had terrible quality control. The width was off on many, many, many boards. They would be 3 1/4" on one end then be 1/16th+ off on the other end (thinner). The floor started going crooked. The installer I used had seen this before but not with wood from Canada. We ended up finishing the job but it costs me $175 more for wood than it should have and I had to pay the installer an extra $150 to tear out numerous rows of wood and reinstall. What a ROYAL PAIN. Home Depot owes me $325 for the extra cost incurred. I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM THEM. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT !!!!!!
