This is a fantastic product. I had a couple gouges and several scratches in a hardwood floor and thought I'd have to have the whole floor refinished. I thought this kit was the only other reasonable option. It takes a while to match the color and pattern of the grain, but it's actually fun to use. You don't have to worry about being off on the color, because you can always adjust it before you apply the finishing lacquer. The pad that comes with the kit to match the final sheen of the floor works perfectly. I'm very glad I bought this kit. It saved me hundreds of dollars. Sorry I didn't take pictures to include with my review.

Love the concept but....The hand piece broke immediately! I tried changing the batteries and that wasn’t the problem. For $80 I expected a heavier piece of equipment that was functional. Silly me.

A must-have for wood/laminate floorYes, this is a the expensive side. And yes, it does take some practice to get good at matching grain, but it has to be the very best repair option available. I had 2 huge gouges/holes from dropping heavy equipment during the renovation of our home, and I reluctantly bought this kit thinking it would look okay at best. The photos don't really do it justice, because I honestly have a real hard time finding those gouges. Highly recommend buying this. Only thing, since I just used it, I can't speak on the longevity of the repair but it seems to be pretty solid, especially after using the finishing lacquer.

It works, but takes timeI put a big scratch all the way across my living/dining room and needed something to fix it. It crossed too many boards to even consider replacing the boards, and the wood markers looked just like I had colored on my floor with markers. This product is a lot more expensive than the other floor repair options, but it gave more customization ability than anything else I could find. It's a lot easier to use and make look good in wider scratches and when the scratch goes with the grain. It takes a while to get the hang of how to blend just the right color and then it's tedious to add all the detail, but it's worth it.
My biggest complaint about this product is that the scraping tool need to be cleaned often in order to really level off the floor, but the little red thing they give you to clean the groves is pretty worthless. I ended up just using the tip of the melting tool once it cooled down. It worked well, it just added extra time because I had to let it cool before I could use it to scrape.
The pictures are from the widest part of the scratch (where it was the easiest to fix). In normal light, it's hard to see where the scratch was, but it's not as perfect as it looks and it's more apparent in bright light. I don't have pictures of the smaller areas where it's a lot easier to see it. But in all cases, it's way better than the raw scratch.

Product very easy to use. I would buy it again!Product was easier than i thought to apply. After a couple of tries I was able to get the hang of it and away i went repairing everything in sight! I applied to a heavy traffic area in my kitchen, so hopefully it will last a while. Trial and error is the only key to matching the colors, so cant knock this product for that and you will have to be creative and have some patience while you work at your repair and matching the colors. The product does provide enough colors to allow good mixes to match mainly browns and tones of brown (white, black and a clear is also provided). The finish of the repair does blend in very well with the tile, however not completely perfect, but for a repair job, you cant beat the quality of repair this product provides you (sure beats grinding out and replacing the tile!!!). What i like about this product is the fact that if you dont like what you just did, simply melt it away by applying the tip to the repair and wipe away with a towel - then you can start over. The plastic box is very secure and will last a while and protect the pieces inside nicely. The tip of melter does get very hot so must becareful!!! I am a DIY'r and overall a good buy on my part with this product since there are many different applications that i think i can use this to make some repairs.
