Extremely Disappointed!
I was convinced that this Cap A Tread was the next best thing if I wanted the laminated stairway look. After seeing the video and seeing just how easy the installation was going to be I decided to buy 15 of these. However, I didn't get to the actual project until now. Out of 15 of them, 6 were damaged. I went back to home depot to exchange them and was informed that since it is a special order they will not take it back, exchange it, or return my money since i was over the 30 day return policy. I said that is ridiculous since it is still brand new and it was shipped to me broken. Since I assumed that the product should have been fine since it was wrapped up, I did not worry too much about it being broken. However, this is not the case at all. It came broken! It infuriates me that they are saying they will not do a thing about it and basically the lost of $300 is my fault for not opening all 15 boxes as soon as I got them! Horrible customer service and everyone should be know about this policy.

It met my expectations as far as appearance and ease of application (to 1" tread), once the surfa...It met my expectations as far as appearance and ease of application (to 1" tread), once the surface was properly prepared. Which was massive. The bond-line of the bull-nose to the flat section of the tread is fragile -it is also raised by about 1 mm, creating a stress line in the worst place. I was concerned that even though the adhesive will offset the tread somewhat from the sub floor, it was still not guaranteed. The statement that there is no diagonal pressure on the bull nose is incorrect, especially upon descent. So I would not use the product unless the subfloor itself also has a supporting bullnose. I lightly sanded down the area to smooth it. Once that was done, the fit was perfect The outcome is beautiful. I will let you know in a year how it all holds up. I have high hopes.

Cap a treadThe hickory cap a tread was fairly easy to cut and place on the stairs. The pattern is awful as there is a huge dark blotch in the same spot on every piece and it is not textured like the pergo so it does not feel the same when you walk on it.

JayThe Higland hickory stair treads do not match the pergo flooring product. Looks like cheap no texture, No hand scrubbed, just smooth/not as hard as pergo flooring surface. Do not waste your money Pergo name not on boxes.

Great and beautiful product that have received lots of compliments. Make sure to put plenty of ad...Great and beautiful product that have received lots of compliments. Make sure to put plenty of adhesive on them to glue them down, because I don't think I used enough because I am getting some popping when coming down the steps.

Great Product!My hallway was completely transformed with these. The appearance and quality are beautiful. I thought they were a little pricey considering I had 10 stairs to do, but convenient not having to stain them, etc.
The installation definitely requires a table saw if they don't measure exact to your needs. They cut well with a clean finished edge. Just put them in this weekend, so we'll see how durable they are.

Product was okThe product was ok but after I got the box home I discovered that it had been sealed with duct tape and some liquid had spilled onto the box and seeped inside the carton. It was a sticky substance. Instead of returning it my husband wiped it off with soap a mild soap and it was ok. I ordered the product online and picked it up in the store.
