The EVERYTHING flooring nailer. Freeman has done it again, providing the DIY and PRO customer with a solution that takes the guess work out of what flooring nailer to buy. The Freeman PF1618GLCN 18-Gauge L cleat flooring nailer has been combined with the 16-Gauge L cleat nailer to make our first all in one nailer. This nailer is equipped with a semi-quick release nose which allows you to simply loosen 2 hex screws on the base to quickly and easily clear your jam. For your more common hardwoods such as 5/8 in. - 3/4 in. oak, maple, hickory tongue and groove flooring the 16-Gauge cleat is ideal. If you happen to be installing 3/8 in. to 3/4 in. engineered or solid tongue and groove flooring, including bamboo, stranded bamboo, carbonized bamboo or exotic hardwoods the 18-Gauge L cleat is your fastener. Our magazine design allows you to load 16-Gauge or 18-Gauge L cleats ranging in size from 1-1/4 in. to 2 in. in length without making any adjustments. This nailer uses any brand of 16-Gauge or 18-Gauge L cleat, so there is no fear of finding the correct fastener, as always Freeman has all the necessary cleats available for sale. This nailer features 3 interchangeable base plates that provide stability and protect flooring surfaces from scratches. The nailer comes with wrenches, oil and a fiberglass handle rubber mallet and is backed by our 7-year warranty.

Bought this nailer in anticipation of installing 1200 square feet of hardwood flooring. It laste...
Bought this nailer in anticipation of installing 1200 square feet of hardwood flooring. It lasted for approximately 12 hours and will now not nail. Nice while it lasted. But sure didn’t last long. Now we will find out how well the company stands behind their product. Unfortunately we now have to rent a nailer to get this floor completed. I’m sure Home Depot will tell us to call the manufacturer although we ordered this only three months ago and just started to use it two days ago.

The Only Flooring Nailer You'll Ever Need !!!This flooring nailer is designed to use both 18-Gauge, and 16-Gauge L cleats. As a result, this flooring nailer will handle any type of flooring out there.
Flooring nailers are designed to install flooring using either staples, or L-Cleat's.
Using L-Cleats in the installation of flooring is far superior to staples, and as such, these type of nailers will generally cost more.
The advantages of this flooring nailer are numerous.
1. With this nailer being pneumatic, there’s no worrying about soft hitting the plunger and partially driving in a cleat.
Every blow to the plunger provides a consistent force to the cleat being driven.
2. The ability to accommodate both 18-Gauge and 16-Gauge L cleats from 1-1/4 in. to 2 in. lengths, from most manufactures.
3. Semi-Quick release nose to clear jams.
4. 3 interchangeable base plates to provide the correct height for flooring thickness, and provide no-mar protection on pre-finished flooring.
5. 16-Gauge L cleats to install common hardwoods, and 18-Gauge L cleats for engineered, or exotic hardwoods such as bamboo.

Several years ago, I rented a standard, manual flooring nailer for a bedroom. When I had the opportunity to use this flooring nailer, the difference is so vast, it’s amazing.
You literally need no effort using this flooring nailer, it just works, each and every time!
I replaced a carpeted bedroom floor with bamboo. I experienced no jams whatsoever. Each L cleat driven was set at the same depth for the entire floor.
Using this flooring nailer was actually the fun, and quick part of installing this flooring.
The only cumbersome part using this flooring nailer is having to use an air compressor. I’ve never minded lugging my compressor into the house previously, but even with its built-in handle, it weighs around 60 pounds.
Having the pneumatic advantage of every L cleat being driven into the flooring at the same depth every time, more than makes up for lugging a compressor and hoses around.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied, and very happy to be using this flooring nailer.
After using it, I can definitely tell you that this flooring nailer is levels above all others due to its high quality construction, complete, adaptable flooring solution using two different gauge L cleats, interchangeable sole plates, and all backed by Freeman’s 7-Year Warranty.
I absolutely love this flooring nailer, and Highly Recommend that you seriously consider this flooring nailer for your next flooring project.

The Most Versatile Flooring NailerThis Freeman Pneumatic 3-in-1 Cleat Flooring Nailer is the most Versatile I've seen. Everything you need to install all kinds of hardwood flooring. You get a selection of Plates to adjust to the thickness of the flooring you want to install. You can use 16 gauge and 18 gauge cleat nails from 1 1/4" to 2", depending on floor thickness. Heavy duty Fiberglass Mallet and comes with oil, wrench and manual.

Worked exactly as expected. Had no jam ups laying roughly...Worked exactly as expected. Had no jam ups laying roughly 150 sqft of 1 1/2” wide red oak flooring. Used 18 gage L cleats.

very good product. works exactly as described. a previous reviewer is correct - you have to be...very good product. works exactly as described. a previous reviewer is correct - you have to be careful and take your time with the alignment. i'm laying 1400 sq ft of 1/2" bamboo (half way done) and i've messed up 2 boards by trying to hurry and not lining up the nailer correctly. when used (and lined up) correctly, it works great! simple little hit with the mallet gives consistent results. i have my compressor set at 75 lbs, which seems about right for the flooring i have (strand bamboo, very hard). when down to last few nails, RELOAD rather than let it run out.

I have only used 18 gauge flooring cleats, but was able to install two hardwood floors without is...I have only used 18 gauge flooring cleats, but was able to install two hardwood floors without issue and without previous experience. Easy to use and consistent results.
