Pneumatic 18-Gauge 4-in-1 Mini Flooring Nailer and Stapler - Product information
The Husky 4-in-1 Flooring Nailer and Stapler combines a flooring nailer, flooring stapler, brad nailer and narrow crown stapler into one ultimate flooring tool. It comes with the 45 degrees flooring attachment pre-assembled, so you can get right to work laying your 3/8 in. - 5/8 in. engineered or solid hardwood flooring. Switch out the nose piece to convert the tool into an 18-Gauge brad nailer/stapler and easily lay your flooring in hard-to-reach areas against the wall or in tight corners. Install your base boards, crown molding, chair rails and other decorative trim without needing to bring out any additional tools. The nailer/stapler features a 360 degrees adjustable exhaust that helps keep surfaces clean, a reload indicator that shows when fasteners are low and a tool-free depth adjust. Ergonomically engineered with an anodized aluminum cylinder and magazine, the nailer/stapler is lightweight and comfortable to use.

The nailer worked great. The only flaw that I can find is the safety mechanism. Most of the time you have to look at the little bar to make sure it goes into the groove of the hardwood correctly. Unlike other nailers you can just slide the gun onto the wood and pull the trigger. Besides that no problem at all. I have only used it on two jobs so far. I am very satisfied with the tool.

Sometimes it would shoot a staple, and other times blanks. Sometimes it would shoot two staples and then other times it wouldn't fire at all. I spent more time trying to get it to work then I did stapling the floor.
I rented a Dewalt and then purchased a Stanley/Bostitch, both worked very well with none of the issues listed above. The Stanley/Bostitch is well worth the extra dollars.

My last mini flooring stapler was a Bostitch stapler that finally gave up working consistently - that and the staples were over $30/box. This gun was relatively inexpensive and shoots regular 18 gauge staples available everywhere. I immediately put down 400 sqft with it and had absolutely no problem with it. The safety probe is a bit long and makes you have to be very attentive to get your placement correct which tends to slow progress a bit. Also because it is long, the gun will not just slide along the wood from one shot to the next - the probe drags too much. This requires you to pick up the gun and move it to the next position - with my old gun I could just slide it along the wood. That's the only reason I did not give this 5 stars. It is also a bit larger than the Bostitch so I can't get as close to the wall as my old gun - maybe a little more than 6" is as close as you can get. It's a good gun and I do recommend.

There are a couple of things about this gun that prevent me from recommending it. First, the adjustment process is overly complicated. The edge/tongue adjustment and the foot adjustment are both adjusted using the same two thumbscrews on either side of the plate. Theoretically, this should be fine but when you go to adjust the foot after adjusting the tongue, everything moves again. It is not as simple as setting it on a board on the floor, loosening everything and then retightening it when it all drops to the correct height. You have to fiddle and practice....a lot! In my case, when I did get all of the height correct, the nails failed to drive into the shoulder correctly and ended up a little ways out on the tongue. After spending another 20 minutes adjusting and testing, I finally got the nail to land in the top of the tongue in the shoulder where it should.....as long as the feeler gauge didn’t get in the way.... issue number three: unlike other staplers, the feeler is a single bar similar in shape to a jigsaw blade. Theoretically, it should fit in the shoulder between the tongue and the top of the piece of floor you are stapling....theoretically. In practice it is pretty hard to get this little sword into that groove unless you are moving very slowly. It is also impossible to see unless you are standing over it in a very specific location. Err hard to do. I thought I had this figured out by just sliding the gun along the board to bang, bang, bang staples...but I was wrong. This brings us to the fourth and most troubling aspect of this stapler. The plate design is made of a piece of steel surrounded on either side by two very hard pieces of plastic. For whatever reason, if you slide the gun along the edge of the board rather than pull it away, this hard plastic/steel/hard plastic arrangement acts like a hand planer and scrapes the edge of any un-eased edge floor you install. I didn’t notice his right away and I had to go fix a bunch of edge-stripped boards already installed on the floor. So, this gun is difficult to adjust for height, is very hard to align properly on a board even when the height is correct because of the single point feeler, and it scrapes the edge of any un-eased edge that you run it along. It really is a pretty awful flooring stapler.

Husky Brand Brad Nailer NAILED IT 1st time!Wow, nice & light. Easy to maneuver around & doesn't tire ones arms when using for prolonged time or over head. I used this to trim out some drywall in my workshop I am setting up. The brads were easy to load & adjust for depth. I used Dewalt Brand Brads & Staples, they worked out beautifully! Another Great idea was to incorporate the narrow head stapler with the brad nailer, 4 For 1 Quadruple The Bang for the Buck! Changing Heads from floor tool to stapler or brad nailer was quick & easy & all parts are included. This tools is a flooring nailer, flooring stapler, brad nailer and narrow crown stapler! This tool feels sturdy & looks to be quality made. Glad I got it added to my arsenal of tools. Helps get the jobs done quickly.

After a couple thousand staples, not once did the nailer jam or fail to sink the staples adequately. Light and easy to use. Looking forward to many more projects with this tool!
