I have several sizes of rail & staple guns. Rather than purchasing a whole new floor gun, I believe they should make a universal wood floor attachment piece for the tip of a stapler or nail gun so any gun can become a Wood floor staple or nail gun. The little rubber washer that holds the pin in place is too small. what do you do if you loose it? where to get one at the time of work? Have to wait days or even weeks before getting a new one. Also I cut my finger with staples when changing floor stapler to regular stapler. staples jumped out and saw my finger. It looked like slow motion. It was crazy to see the staples jump out and feeling every staple cut through my finger. it was a weird feeling.

Good value tool for the moneyAs a carpenter for over 20 years I have to install the newest engineered flooring from time to time. I previously borrowed or rented a tool to do this as I didn't need one all that often but finally decided to invest in one. This tool is well built and easy to adjust. The plastic 'feet' are fairly robust and the screw clamps that hold them in place do the job adequately. Loading is easy and the depth adjustment via the screw at the tool's trigger is simple. The safety is the depth adjustment as far as fastener penetration and it's a fine line there so take some time to dial that in. The tool fires well, didn't skip or misplace a fastener in the first floor it tackled, which was over 800 s.f.
I would, if I had say, ask the manufacturer to increase the length of the fastener window on the side of the tool to let one see how many staples are left loaded. It's got one, but it's rather small so you'll end up checking it frequently. I might just modify it (elongate) to serve that purpose. Otherwise for the money in comparison to other tools I've used and rented, this is a great little addition to the arsenal and it appears that it will serve me well into the future. Happy with it's build and performance, I recommend it!

Great find - Great customer serviceBought this stapler based on reviews (both at Home Depot and other sites) and price. After I placed my order through Home Depot, I told my flooring salesperson that I was going to install the engineered hardwood myself, he insisted on digging up a text from one of his installers recommending the perfect tool for the job... you guessed it, the Freeman PFBC940. Now the thing that impressed me the most; The first gun I received was broken - it had an air leak somewhere in the guts and would not drive staples completely while practicing for the main event. As recommended, instead of returning it to Home Depot, I called the company - man, talk about customer service! Spoke with nice (and apologetic) young man named Rich Kahn and two days later, I had a new, fully functional stapler on my doorstep. No questions, no problem - just emailed a copy of my Home Depot order confirmation e-mail and that was it. They even payed for me to ship the defective machine back. A little adjusting and practicing on a sacrificial piece of flooring and the Freeman stapler worked flawlessly. To sum up; Flawless performance - price that's cheaper than renting a stapler - outstanding customer service... I am happy. My knees still hurt from installing the floor, but I'm happy.

Easy to use, quality built, powerful, easy set up, light weight, great priceinstalling half inch engineered hard wood flooring. Didn't want to rent a floor nailer as I couldn't dedicate my entire day to this project. The price made this an easy decision.
I am very happy I purchased this floor nailer. Installed 150 sqft without a problem. Easy set up, directions clear and easy to follow, trigger easier to use compared to the other floor nailers where you use a mallet to fire the nailer, quality product did not feel cheap. I would highly recommend this product. Now onto my next bedroom floor to update with more hard wood.

Great ToolWe just had a 30x30 family room added to our home, and are doing the finishing work ourselves. We bought 3/8" brazilian cherry pre-finished flooring to install, and needed to find a good nailer/stapler. There were a few things that we liked about this model: it it has a trigger instead of the traditional hammer to engage it, it's lightweight, and it has an optional head to convert it to a finishing nailer. We bought it, and are very close to finishing the floor now. The product has worked beautifully with very few mis-fires, and is very easy to use. We are going to change the head, and use it on the casings and baseboards next!

does what it is supposed toWorks great on 1/2 inch engineered maple flooring. Takes a bit of getting used to (work on a scrap piece to see how gun fires). Keep a hammer and a nail driver handy in case the staple does not fire all the way in to manually hammer the staple the final mm or so. Does not happen too often, maybe once every 50 or so staples. Overall excellent value and like the title states - does what it is supposed to.

Just installed 700 sq. ft of 1/2 engineered hard wood with absolutely no issues, no jams or misfires; I am certain it could handle much larger jobs. Very easy depth adjustment and angle alignment. Light weight, easy to use and the trigger fire especially helpful, hammer types can be a back breaker. I own other more expensive nailers, this is the first floor nailer and the option to convert to a stapler and brad nailer is a plus. Not sure how it would hold up for commercial use but for the do it yourselfer and considering the price this one would be tough to beat. Great investment, would not hesitate to recommend it. Beats the heck out of renting if you want to take your time and do the job right without watching the clock.

This is not for the pro installer.I Install a lot of flooring. The set-up is as easy as it gets. This is one of the best nailguns for the money, (for a do-it-yourself person). If you install for a living--- This gun misfires often (fires without a nail shooting). The piston does not come all the way back up. The gun also lacks power. (If you are a pro, the gun will not keep up with you.) For the do-it-yourself person. this is the best nailgun for you. If you slow down the gun works great.
