The review is from a first time, weekend warrior floor installer. I've used pneumatic nailers before, but never a floor nailer. That being said, this was a piece of cake to use. While installing over 400 sq. ft. of 3/4" maple, I never experienced a failure or a jam. I added a few drips of oil on every 2nd string of nails, and it worked perfectly. The only issue I had was trying to adjust the required air pressure for the small tool. It required about 10-15 more pounds of pressure, but I think that is due to the length of the staples I was using and not a reflection on the tool. If you're considering a do-it-yourself flooring project, don't be afraid of this set. I called our local rental spot and to rent just the big nailer it was $22 per day. Doesn't take a mathematician to figure out it is cheaper to buy this set than to rent an abused, worn out tool. Stop looking around and pull the trigger on this set. The small tool is virtually free when you compare it to other nailers at this and other stores. Good luck!

I have run about 6-7000 2" cleats in the larger flooring nailer on 9/16" stranded bamboo and oak and 5000 1" staples thru the smaller stapler/nailer on 1/2" oak and 3/16' hickory. I have had no problems with either nailer other than an occasional jamb which is extremely easy to correct with either one. I would highly recommend these to the average handyman. I don't use them as often as a professional would so I don't know how they would hold up in that environment. But as an one who puts down flooring occasionally, I have no fear in starting a project with either one of these flooring nailers. VERY VERY SATISFIED !!!!

Strong, Jamb-Free Nailer
Save yourself the money and buy this nailer. Renting makes you rush and you never know how the others before you treated the tool. This nailer is priced right and you can use it over and over again without any new charges! No trips back and forth to the store with a rental (be sure to add the gas into your estimates) and you can work at your own pace if you only have weekends free (like me).
I bought this kit over just the flooring nailer because of a current sale/promotion. The only downfall was that this kit didn't come with any hard plastic cases for the tools. I contacted the Freeman customer service and for a very reasonable charge they sent me a nailer case. So after paying just under the cost of the flooring nailer, I have everything that would have come with it plus the flooring stapler. I can't speak to the flooring stapler as I haven't used it yet, but I can imagine it was built to the same high quality as the flooring nailer. I used 3-5 drops of tool oil at each reload and didn't have a single jamb all day. I went about 12 hours straight working by myself and didn't have a single problem with the nailer. I used this in conjunction with a PC 6-gallon pancake compressor and it was able to keep up just fine. The only time I had an issue with the nail not setting correctly was when I was up against a wall and had a hard time getting the force behind the mallet. I call that user error, so I have nothing bad to say about the tool. So far I have installed 200 sq ft, but have another 200 sq ft to go on this project and will have more hardwood projects to come for sure.

Good to Excellent-The only problem I encountered was that the Tcleats I used jammed on occassion but they cleared easily.
I like the air impact rather than just a manual floor nailer. I have used both. The air allows for a much easier action and allows cleats to always penetrate evenly. Once set for depth gun worked great. If I had the choice all over again I would again choose this Freeman kit. The second smaller floor nailer also allows you to nail right up to the wall. The smaller nailer is also a must for doing stairs especially when you use standard hardwood floor planks for stair treads. I am a novice but even so my hardwood floor install went well and looks great.

Used them to install my oak floor. Worked excellent,
This product preformed ubove my expectations. Had a few helpers that are just teenage boys that gained some experiance on using power tools. They and the nailers produced an outstanding product.

better than expected
I have used a bostitch flooring gun both pneumatic and manual kind (if someone asks you to use a manual one run away) before for installing floors. This gun worked just as good as those ones did. It seems to be just as good quality too for a 1/3 of the price. I only have used it once so far to install about 400 sq ft of prefinished flooring and didn't have any problems with it. I bought this gun because it was about the same price as renting one for a week so I really didn't care if I only got one job out it. I did like that you could use different kinds of fastener in it too. I would have rated the mini stapler a little less only because I had tried to use it as a brad gun without the flooring nose on it and it leaves a bigger hole setting the brad nail because the hammer in it drives staples too. Not to big of a deal though I don't think I would bother ever taking the flooring nose off again as I have other finish guns to use. Would have liked to have a case for them but for the price I'm not going to complain to much. I just kept the box they came in and put them back in for storage till I need them again.

The main floor nailer jammed over and over again. Luckily I had my older gun still and was able to finish the job. I need to return this new cheap quality gun... And my older gun is a Freeman also so I was very disappointed.
