Sound Deadening Underlayment
I was apprehensive about ordering this on line. The pic used on Home Depots website, shows it curling up, and makes it look thicker than it is. I thought it might be hard to install, have too much give for a floating floor, and too thick for radiant heating. The Q&A did not help, because it had conflicting answers. The packaging answers most of the Q&A (see pic). It can be used with all flooring, is 100 square feet, and is .08" thick (see pic).
I wanted an underlayment for a floating floor, not to reduce noise below, since below is a basement, but to dampen the hollow sound floating floor can make in the room. This worked great. Easy to cut and lay. Perfect thickness; no spongy feeling, no worry of the floor cracking over time. One side is rubber (which you face down, to adhere to subfloor), and the other is a shiny slippery surface (which you face up, to allow the flooring to expand and contract)
It does have a noticeable odor when you first open the packaging, but seems to have dissipated.

I'm a first time home buyer and we gutted the entire upstairs area. I researched everything and at the time, this product did not have reviews on home Depot. I did find a lot about using rubber as underlayment on Google and decided what the heck! Why not? The basement is finished and we were going to make it into our entertainment area so I didn't want any noise to be heard in either direction.
This product has worked like a champ! We have it throughout the entire upstairs (we bought 12mm laminate) and we don't hear anything!! The only time I might hear the surround sound is if I am near a floor register that happens to be above the speaker and that is still pretty faint.
Also our floor doesn't have that hollow sound like the cheaper stuff that can be bought. A lot of people thing it's real wood floors and I did not get the top of the line laminate either!!
Don't hesitate, buy it! It's worth it.

This floor underlayment was exactly what I was looking for! I love how it is made out of recycled rubber, most of them that I have found are made out of foam. The underlayment seems to standup well to walking on it without the flooring as well, which other that I have used rips up easily when you walk across it trying to install the floor. Very easy to roll out and cut with a box knife to the correct lengths. The 48" wide was perfect for my room as I did 3 rows of it and it covered the whole 12 foot wide width. It is black on one side and kind of a grayish color on the other side which is printed this side up. After installing the floor and walking on it I am super impressed with how quiet the laminate floor is, I have another room I installed laminate floor in with a foam underlayment and it isn't near as "cushy" and quiet as the room that I installed this underlayment in.

Durable underlayment
This is a good, firm, noise dampening underlayment for any floating floor. It is made of solid rubber particles that will not compress while weight bearing, which make it better than foam underlayment products. It cuts simply with a utility knife, and after layed down, will not slip around due to the rubber sticking to the floor. The top layer has a film which allows floating floors to move freely on top of the underlayment. Being mildew proof makes it a great product for bathroom and kitchen floors.

I used TechnoFloor for the underlayment for my 5mm Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring. It was wonderful to work with and easy to cut with a razorblade knife. It covered most minor floor blemishes and the LVP was easy to lay on top of it. I would recommend this product to anyone used LVP, laminate or wood flooring.

I applied the Techno Floor Acoustic 100 sq. ft. 48 in. x 25 ft. x 0.13 in. Recycled Rubber Underlayment for All Types of Flooring to an up stairs floor where the sound was quite loud before application of the recycled underlayment material. Once it was layered I added ceramic tile which really made a difference of the noisy sound. My grand usually comes over week ends & play games in the upper room, I am loving the quality of sound quality, yes it meets my expectations 100%
