One of the best ways to prevent job-site accidents when installing WarmWalk radiant floor heating system over tile is to use this plastic trowel to minimize the risk of nicking the heating wire - a common accident when using metal trowels. Optionally, use the flat side of the trowel to float a skim-coat over the mat. Use of this 3/8 in. notched plastic trowel also assures the minimum recommended amount of thin-set mortar is applied over the heating mat.

If you're going to do a heated floor, this trowel is essential for laying down the thinset safely without risking damaging the wiring.

Great product
This is a great product. I put heated flooring in the self leveling underlayment and the wires come up in some areas. Using the plastic trowel was great am very easy to use. I was comfortable with spreading mortar and didn't worry about damaging the wire. Tile looks great

Heated Floor Trowel
This is the trowel you need for heated floor installation. Too bad the store doesn't carry it. The plastic construction is what will keep the heated floor wire from getting damaged when installing the flooring.

This trowel worked fine. I used this when installing tile over a cable heating system in my kitchen. The idea being that I did not want to cut or damage the heating cable.. No problems with the trowel. I liked that the hand grip and bracket were all one piece. I had another trowel with a rubber grip but it kept coming apart, Making the assembly as one part made this one much simpler, easy to use and easy to clean..

Quality trowel
We were laying down radiant under tile so this was the best way to go. Handle held together great and was lighter than my metal ones. Got a tough job done.
