The Porta-Nails Model 418A Portamatic Evolution 18-Gauge. Pneumatic Flooring L-Cleat Nailer is engineered to give you tight floors and exact nail placement for 3/8 in. to 3/4 in. flooring. The 418A is the Industry Solution for installing Solid, Engineered and Stranded or Woven Bamboo flooring requiring the use of an 18-Gauge L-type cleat nail to reduce the risk of splitting the tongue of the wood or dimpling the top prefinished surface. Today's imported and prefinished floors need special attention for the nail placement and protecting the top edge of the factory finish. The 418A delivers with an 18-Gauge nail and adjustable base plate. First, it sets against the front of the tongue, reducing the risk of damaging the top edge of the flooring. Second, it features a shim-less height adjustment through the action of an easy to adjust cam mechanism. Our compact impact-triggered tool allows you to get even closer to the wall and the head, valve and main piston components are either snapped or screwed together making onsite servicing quick and easy. Worth every penny...
Definitely this nailer is novice friendly. Originally we wasted precious time trying to install our bamboo floor with an off-the-shelf and definitely inferior nailer. Nail one, jam two, jam three, nail four... Using this nailer, Halleluiah. The only down side is getting the nails. Ended up having to order them online.
