This is a 2 star rating for a number of reasons. The larger nailer came with a burr on the bottom that kept scratching my floor. The smaller nailer SAYS it holds 18 gauge 1 5/8" brads but doesn't.Otherwise they work well.

Best for specific use
The combo is made up of a floor nailer (PF18GLCN) and a 4-in-1 brad nailer (PFBC940). It is extremely versatile and can do a number of flooring jobs well. However, it really shines with prefinished exotic or bamboo flooring in the 1/2" range and is best suited for those kinds of installations. Since the bulk of my work is with 3/4" unfinished American hardwood flooring, it's not quite as useful for our renovation operation as I would have hoped.
The floor nailer shoots 18-gauge L-cleats and nothing else. This is among the most expensive kinds of flooring fastener. For thicker unfinished hardwoods, staples are much cheaper, and the thicker cleats tend to have more holding power. The 18-gauge comes into its own when working with thinner exotic hardwoods and bamboo floors. And when it comes into its own, it's an impressive floor nailer. You won't have any sort of problem with this as long as you keep it properly oiled.
The brad nailer is similarly well-made, but I prefer to use a 16-gauge finish nailer to face nail rows of the (softer and thicker) unfinished American hardwoods I use, and in the smaller rooms we typically do wood flooring in (we rarely work on residential properties of more than 2200 square feet), a regular finish nailer will do the trick nicely on the limited areas that require face nailing.
So really, if you're buying this to do thinner, more brittle prefinished exotics or bamboo, you'll be in great shape. It's a great combo kit and you'll get serious linear footage out of it. If you're buying this for thicker solid unfinished hardwoods, it will work, but not as well as tools designed to shoot thicker-gauge staples and cleats.

Both guns worked great right out of the box. The only thing I had to adjust was the air pressure coming out of my compressor. I really didn't think I would need our use the smaller nail/staple gun but it worked great for the second row and other tight spots. I installed 5/8" solid Bamboo with out a problem. The only thing you have to keep in mind is to make sure that the foot of the gun is on the tongue and not the surface of the board, it is easy to make this mistake. One other thing is you need to hit it with moderate pressure. To light and the cleat is not sunk all the way. Then you need to finish sinking it with a nailset. I installed this same flooring in my mothers house a couple of months ago but did the glue down method. I will never do that again. What a mess and you can't help not getting glue on the boards. We spent most of the time cleaning boards afterwards. Again I highly suggest this combo set.

Floor nailer worked great. Used Powernail 18 gauge L cleats. No issues at all. When lined up correctly and with proper air pressure set, cleats went in fine. I had to use the 5/8" shoe on the bottom to set the cleats properly, even though the floor was only 1/2". Think that was more likely a floor manufacture issue.
As for the 18 gauge gun, it drives staples fine. If you want to use it with nails, it is just too inconsistent (misfires and nails not driven correctly) and it leaves too large a indent in the material for an 18 gauge nail.

Very Good Flooring Kit
This is a very good two piece flooring kit for installing hardwood floors. Both are pneumatic driven nailers. The large nailer is very good when you are installing harder woods like bamboo and teaks which have a tendency to bend staples and ONLY USES 18 gauge L cleats. It is designed for use of woods between 3/8 inches and 3/4 inches and comes with 3 interchangeable base plate. The larger nailer does not have a trigger and only required the user to strike it with a rubber mallet. The smaller nailer is designed for 3/8 inches to 1/2 inches solid or engineering flooring. It has a trigger and works like a regular nail gun and uses 18 gauge brads or staples. This is a great combo set for anyone that has hardwoods or engineer flooring to install. These tools are made of quality materials.

In the month I've been using these nailers I have installed thousands of feet and only hade a handfull of jams. I'm impressed by them they seem to be compatible with the cleats and staples as well as the pin nails I have available in my area.
