While the color match and ease of installation are great, the quality of the c-channel snap system by which the molding is held in place is surely wanting. To achieve a consistently solid anchor is not always possible, especially when dealing with transitioning from the plank flooring to high pile carpet. What happens is that the molding will initially appear to be satisfactorily secure, but in fact the snap-lock method used can prove to be a sad design or of poor quality. It is common that it soon begins to emit irritating click and snap sounds as a foot comes in contact with the molding. We were forced to uninstall molding in all six doorway locations where it was used. In the end, all pieces of this vinyl multi-purpose reducer ended up in the dumpster and were replaced with solid "real oak" reducer/transition pieces. No more problems.
