Western Hickory engineered hardwood flooring is sure to warm any room in your home with its rich grain and hand-scraped texture finish. This flooring can be installed on all levels, including basements and radiant heated subfloors (when installed as glued or floating). Hickory has inherent strength and durability, which make Western Hickory a fantastic flooring choice. Try mixing both the 3-1/4 in. and 5 in. plank sizes to create a custom look. An existing home should have a consistent room temperature of 60°F - 80°F and relative humidity (RH) of 35% - 55%. Continual deviation from these conditions will affect the dimensions of flooring (see installation guide for more details).

Very happy with it! Western espresso
FYI the home decorators collection is still made by Shaw flooring just renamed for Home Depot. We went with almost 1200 sq ft of western hickory espresso tongue and groove that got nailed down on subfloor. We used 15lb roofers felt because shaw says anything else will or can void warranty. It took me a long time to commit from just looking at sample. But it's exactly what I wanted. It's hand scraped the grooves aren't very noticeable you see more grain then groove but they are there. is a lot of distress which makes it look rustic. also a lot of hickory grain. Boards come in different shades of medium brown. It says random size but most boards are longer with some smaller boards mixed in boxes. The wear layer seems to be pretty thin and can dent easy. But that blends in well with the look. There were some areas that we touched up with a hickory stain and it's look it came from factory. We're very happy with decision but also only couple days out from install.

RemodelingVery good product went together well went with the floating floor method didnt want to glue or nail it but I had no big issues I just wished it locked together a little more securely some joints had to be glued so they wouldn't separate. But a beautiful floor when it was all done.

Great price for the quality of this flooring. The top photo in this listing is an exact match for...Great price for the quality of this flooring. The top photo in this listing is an exact match for the flooring color as you look across a wide expanse of the floor. When looking straight down at the floor is looks much more like the bottom photo, slightly less deep/dark. Overall, it is a medium dark chocolate brown with maybe a very very slight tinge of grey. No complaints here.
I liked the fact that the vast majority of planks were full size planks with some boxes having slightly shorter planks. It made installing 650 sqf. on a concrete stab faster. The flooring fit together perfectly with little effort or glue, using a professional tapping block and rubber mallet.
I have to tell you, I was very pleased with this product. It went down easy, was straight, with only 1 or 2 planks out of hundreds of planks that were slightly warped. Far exceeded my expectations. I was really surprised when I left several cut pieces (scrap) outside on a work table over 2-3 days when it rained and the water didn't cause the pieces to warp, delaminate, swell or bleed their color. That was impressive. I'm not expecting to get that much water on the floor but it was nice to see it preform that well when exposed to that much water/dampness.

Feels great, looks even better!Because of it's depth, I was worried it would feel like a laminate - It DOES NOT! The engineered hardwood feels like a hardwood floor, looks beautiful and went in fairly easily (says the contractor). So happy with my Shaw floor.

So much better than the picturesThe reason that I gave the overall rating only average is because of the variation in the size of the random lengths. We covered about 600 square feet with this flooring on a cement slab. Each box had such different sized small lengths that we ended up using the longest boards and cutting so that it would look more uniform. If we hadn't it wouldn't have looked as good. Other than that, each piece connected well together with no glue.

This is the second time I have installed this floor,...This is the second time I have installed this floor, this time in a kitchen because it seems to wear like iron. It even put up with my contractor's traffic unscathed. Easy to install-I used the glue joint floating method.

Not greyThis "winter grey" looks grey in the online pictures. My store did not have samples. When it arrived my contractor called me to the site before they unloaded, as it was not grey at all. It was a very dark brown. With several sets of eyes, we did not see any grey to it. I was able to return it for a refund but this was an inconvenience and I had to start all over in a flooring hunt.

Good choice!Beautiful coffee colored hickory flooring. Was looking for a darker wood than what is typically sold in local stores. Ordered online and shipped to home. Product was well packaged. Installed as a floating floor in a home office using tongue and groove glue and cork underlayment which was available at our local Home Depot. New floor looks great! Note: There is a similar "click and lock" version of this product also available so be sure to select the correct product depending upon the type needed. We chose the standard tongue and groove (glue) product.
