The Freeman Professional 18-Gauge L Cleat Flooring Nailer offers an affordable solution for the professional and do-it-yourselfer for installation of dense wood applications such as Bamboo, Brazilian Teak and other exotic hardwoods. The driver blade is made of hardened steel with an aluminum cylinder and high-quality rubber O-rings while the body of the nailer is constructed of durable die-cast aluminum to stand up to daily use. This nailer features 3 interchangeable base plates that provide stability and protect flooring surfaces from scratches. The nailer comes with wrenches, oil, and a rubber mallet. Works greatThe first nailer arrived with a leak but fired well. Called Freeman 800 number they sent a replacement (new) right away with a return label included for shipping defective one back to them-free shipping both ways as it should. The new gun arrived in 3 days. Did not jam once though only fired 150 so far. The depth of cleat depends on both air pressure and hammering force. After a few firing and adjustments, the nailing was neat and consistent. Freeman's customer service was really excellent. 5 stars! Don't return to store as indicated in a card within the package--Call Freeman instead if there is any issue.

Great Value!I purchased this nailer for three reasons. 1. It is recommended for exotic hardwoods and stranded bamboo (I was laying stranded bamboo) 2. It is half the price of other similar nailers on the market 3. It was cheaper than renting.
Just with the three above reasons it was worth the money, but what made this an excellent value for me was the quality of the nailer. Everything form the 3/8" to 3/4" wood thickness flexibility, fiberglass mallet, light weight and overall appearance, not to mention its out of the box safe to use on pre-finished floors. Simply a great value! Worked like a champ on a small kitchen and dining room, couldn't ask for more!

Worked perfectly on solid acacia 3/4" flooring.Put down about 400 square feet of pre-finished acacia. The nailer didn't jam and had occasional, but minimal splitting on the tongues of some extra dense boards.
The only thing that you need to be careful of is that the nailer has a second lip that may lock onto the edge of the board. This will cause you to put a nail into the face of the board - pay attention and make sure that the well marked arrow is where you want it to be - on the tongue!

Great product for the job intendedI wish the size of the product could be made slightly different to allow it to be used closer to the wall area in both the starting point and where you need to complete the flooring in the ending process. It works very well and I am SO GREAT-FULL that the store clerk assigned to help me knew so much about your product and what I needed to install my flooring. So far I'm really pleased the this tool, it has...So far I'm really pleased the this tool, it has worked flawlessly with the 1 3/4 inch cleats. The one thing that I would mention is that if you are putting down a thick (3/4 inch) floor with a thicker underlayment you may want to consider a nailer that will do 2" cleats.
