This durable pre finished Solid real maple floor is made of 3/4 in. thick sawn solid wood and features mother nature’s naturally occurring beauty marks such as distinctive color variation, knots and mineral streaks. Plank length is totally random and varies based upon the yield of each tree. The aluminum oxide finish provides 10 times more abrasion resistance than ordinary urethane finishes. Love it
We installed 350 square feet of Maple nutmeg and it looks great. The finish appears to be made of steel so I'm hopeful it will hold up for many years. Delivery was perfect by the freight company--and NOT ONE board was damaged. Kinda of pricey, but nice to know HD will honor any returns and having it pre-finished was a must. Shade a bit darker than the sample in the store though..but still love it.

Millstead flooringI though the product was well made. There were few natural defects in the wood and I was able use them partially throughout the install.
However, my one complaint is there were too many smaller pieces in the "random" packed boxes. I had a bunch of short pieces left even after I installed a (unfortunately) noticeably disproportionate amount. As a contractor I found it odd that when I needed to order a few more boxes to complete the install. Home Depot "customer service" claimed they had no way to request medium and long pieces only. Now the rest of my floor has a disproportionate amount of small pieces

Beautiful flooringWe chose this "smoked" maple flooring because of its 55 year quarantee, soft gray highlights and the fact that it is harvested responsibly in USA. The "smoked" color is subtle, but, does a great job of highlighting the grays in our brick fireplace and walls covered with old barn siding. BEWARE...each floorboard has dark edges which create the appearance of a "wide seam" when laid. This results in a distinctly different appearance. We love it!!

Good quality flooring - lengths not really randomPurchased 15 boxes for a bedroom remodel. Quality of hardwood was great. Very few defects and almost no warped boards.
Only one issue discovered was that maybe 8-10 boxes of the total 15 boxes ordered contained short lengths only of 12-24".
The other boxes contained lengths from 4 ft to the smaller sizes.
If you order several cases like I did you should open all of them before you start the job to make sure you really get random lengths.
We did not realize this issue until we were halfway through the project. It still looks great, but I would have preferred more boards of a longer length throughout the floor area.

Too random lengthI have ordered 57 cases. The overall quality of hardwood floors is good, but the length of planks within each case are too random, only one or two long planks packed in the most cases , the rest are short planks.
