I had someone install this tile in my master bedroom & closet...about 240 sq ft using 3/16" spacers. After several tiles had been set / laid the tile installer noticed it was getting more & more difficult to line up the joint lines. Turned out some 18"x18" tiles varied slightly in length by 1/16" to 1/8". I was grateful to have read in the reviews other people experienced this same problem. I went back to Home Depot & bought 3 more boxes of tile to find like sized tiles to finish the project. I should note, except for the subsequent 3 extra boxes of tile purchased, all of the previous boxes were of the same lot.
A couple things:
(1) Buy extra boxes of tile to compensate for the mixed sizes w/in a box.
(2) Have 1 master tile set aside to use as your sizing guide for floor tiles to be laid & for the extra tiles you keep after the project is finished.
When it came to returning all 3 opened tile boxes & the problem tiles spread w/mud, Home Depot was GREAT about returning everything.
I brought this issue to the attention of my local Home Depot.

BE READY TO CHECK THE SIZE OF EACH BOXI got 28 boxes of this to tile for 400+ square feet of kitchen and dining room. The first part was going smooth until about 3/4 of the way, I didn't realize what was happening until it was too late. My gaps started getting wider than it should be on some ares and small in others. I cheated my 1/4 gap a little, but if you look close you can tell.
Before I started the kitchen I was doing a dry layout and had it happen again. I built a jig and started measuring, about 1/4 of the tile I had were 1/16 shorter than the others. I made two piles of equal size tiles and will use the small ones where I don't need a full tile. BUYER BEWARE, check each box before you mix your mud.

There were only two patterns in a box, so there is a lot of repeated pattern. I did not have that...There were only two patterns in a box, so there is a lot of repeated pattern. I did not have that problem with the smaller tiles in this color. This tile is actually 17 9/16" square, so if you want to cover an 18" square area with each tile you will have very wide grout lines. I ordered a case and had it shipped. Two of the eight tiles were broken. So be sure to order 25% extra. This is a common problem with HD tile, whether shipped or purchased at the store.
