Scratches easily
Despite having a fairly high 'hardness' rating, this floor has a tendency to scratch and dent extremely easily. It's been installed in our home for less than a month, and everything seems to scratch it. The dog, any dropped item. There are multiple grooves and scratches all over it. Have to say I'm quite disappointed in the durability of the flooring.

Dont buy this floor! The stain and finish easily comes off.I bought this flooring around 10 years ago. I put it throughout my 3100 square foot home. Within the first year, my floor started losing its stain/finish. They claim the stain/finish process is hardened and sealed into the wood, that is simply not true from my experience. My painter was doing some painting throughout the house and his special blue tape that is safe on all surfaces, removed the stain and finfish on my floor leaving a big blonde maple looking spot that could be seen from the other room. This continued to happen in various parts of the house. My daughter had a party and some candy was stepped on into the floor. When we cleaned up to remove it, it removed the stain and finish int the shape of the candy. My dogs nails, scratch the service easily and we keep her nails clipped regulary. We have wwooden chairs with felt protectors and they still remove the stain and finish. Theirs nothing scientific about this special stain/urethane finish. Its nothing more than a thin coat of sprayed on stain.urethane that apparently doesnt stick well to the maple floor. Nice idea that does not work. Its a shame, everytime sojmeone walks into my home they compliment me on the floors but then they see all the blonde maple scratch marks and spots and realize the deficiency in the product.

Nice flooringI noticed another reviewer commented about scratching and denting easily. We have had these in about 2 years...and while we do have some scratches/dents as well I think this is normal for hardwood floors, maybe I am wrong but I know my parents have old wood floors and I know they can scratch as well. I thought with wood floors you just have to take care when moving things along them. We have a dog and so far I have not seen any issues with his paws scratching. The dents you can only see close up. Overall I love the floors. My hubby did not love installing them, it is hard work, I think we will pay for our next room to be done. ;)
