The color of this was perfect and goes very well with the gray color she wanted in her room. I really like the size of the board width also. I wanted the width to be kind of wide and these were the perfect size. The installation was fairly easy, we had the room done in the one day. l attached pictures to show how nice the finished floor looks.

The laminate flooring isn't a good choice for wet locations so I did not run this into the MBR as I intended to with my original thought of ceramic "wood" planks. These also don't seem to easily do a herringbone shape as I initially envisioned the floor. I am happy with the color, the variation of the patterns and the final look. This was the first time I installed laminate flooring. It wasn't easy when I tried it first without underlayment. It wasn't necessary to use the tapping tools I purchased after struggling with a first try of installation as they do click into place but that did require a learning curve. The floor did snap together pretty easiily once I got the hang of it. I have installed vinyl plank and the advantage to this floor is that the subfloor doesn't need as much attention. The disadvantage is that the laminate has a certain noise it makes unlike the quiet vinyl or subdued wood floors or ceramic. Cutting all the ends and trim pieces with wood tools vs a utility knife is less favorable to me too. I was testing 100 sq ft and purchased 200 sq ft plus the underlayment and 3/4" quarter round moulding which had to be nailed to the baseboards to cap the edges of the floating floor. Corresponding flooring transitions I found on the HD website also matched perfectly! I also did have wasted planks because this is an order item and some of the corners were damaged due to shipping and handling. They break off or curve up creating a sharp on the floor. Like the results but honestly thinking it was a lot of work that I may not chose to do again.

But once we had done that, the installation itself was quite ease and straight forward. I like the fact that the boards are not too thin, but have a nice heft to them. Now I am absolutely delighted with how the floor turned out, the initial investment in time to select the coloring turned out great and we now have a floor that has perfect shading.
Just love my new entry floor!
