This durable prefinished scraped engineered real wood floor will enhance the value of your home. The flooring is crafted of five layers of solid wood permanently bonded together in a cross-ply design. The scraped texture gives a time-worn rustic appearance that accents all of the woods natural character. No HDF or other fiber boards are utilized. Gorgeous Flooring!
After spending months researching and looking at flooring we made the choice to go with the 1/2" Scraped Hickory, and could not be more happy with our choice. We wanted flooring with some character, but still classic and understated. The 1/2" is solid and should be more durable than the 3/8", and gives an extra .5mm for wear and refinishing if we ever need to do that. We're just about done with the installation and the floor looks incredible! We installed this ourselves and after figuring out a few tricks everything went down very easily. Installing does take some basic carpentry skill and the proper tools. I'm using the Dewalt flooring stapler with 2" staples going through 1/2" mdf into 3/4" plywood, as well as the Dewalt 15 gauge finish nailer, both highly recommended. The Aluminum Oxide finish is tough on saw blades, but we're through 530 sq feet and the blades are still cutting clean. I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade to a hardwood floor.

I hesitate to recommend this flooring but decided to anyway because the end result is beautiful. My husband has laid hardwood for the last 20 years and said this was the most difficult flooring he has ever put down. The worst part has been sorting through each box, subsequently pulling out tons of damaged boards. To put in perspective, we ordered 49 boxes and returned 18 boxes. In addition to the 18 boxes we returned, we also set aside at least 4 full boxes we managed to salvage by cutting off the damaged end. So honestly that comes to 22 boxes! We knew to order 10% over what was needed but who would have ever imagined we needed to almost double our order because of damaged poduct! It's almost as though we received seconds verses brand new. Maybe what we received was flooring returned by someone else that was repackaged and shipped out again. My husband refused to put another customer through this nightmare so he returned the 18 boxes as damaged. I don't think Home Depot was happy about it but as labor intensive as installing hardwood is, NO WAY are we laying damaged flooring!

I hesitate to recommend this product due to my install and inspection experiences using it. I bought twenty six cases with two unusable from the start due to checked veneer and defective finish. Everything critical stated by other reviewers true, cracks, warped boards, defective plywood supporting layers, and damaged edges. One can achieve good looking results but this product is so fragile I wonder as to it's long term durability. I mistakenly was given the Factory phone number by the very helpful customer service person at my local H. Depot and was given a lecture on my lack of knowledge of natural wood flooring products. Those are not defects, I was informed by Mr. B, I just do not understand what I'm looking at! The flooring supervisor at my local Depot has assured me he will replace the defective product. Sharp blade on saw, patience and some luck is what is needwith this products. THX.

I am a professional installer and this was one of the most difficult 1/2 inch engineered flooring I have ever installed. I had to order 81 cases of product in order to keep 41 cases that were actually useable. Poor quality product with many surface flaws (dings, scratches, chips, etc.)

wear surface very uniform. Tongue and grooves fit together well. Some individual boards slightly warped which made install a bit more challenging, particularly when being glued down. Overall good product.
