The flooring is made of 3/4 in. thick sawn solid wood and features mother nature's naturally occurring beauty marks such as distinctive color variation, knots and mineral streaks. Plank length is totally random and varies based upon the yield of each tree. The aluminum oxide finish provides more abrasion resistance than ordinary urethane finishes. Vintage floors may contain naturally occurring light and dark wood colors plus grain variations. Our flooring is proudly crafted in Tennessee from responsibly harvested wood. 1300 square feet installed. Looks great until you are closer. Cracks upon cracks in the finish. Not square. Chips like crazy. Home Depot installers told us it was a bad product. Mill agreed to send a new box to patch all the bad boards. Installer indicated this would be a bad idea as it would effect the overall install and would cause more issues in the future. Over 20 boards would have required replacement. As a short term fix, he pulled out the putty and got to work while we got back on the phone with HD to discuss next steps. Sigh... 15k floor that isn't worth the cardboard boxes it came in. The installer was great however. Very understanding, tried to explain our options and was himself frustrated as he felt it made him look bad. I ensured him its a manufacturers fault and not his. Avoid at all costs. Installer shook his head and said the quality is terrible before he left.

inconsistentWe bought over 700 sq feet of this hickory flooring. It was beautiful but the boards were inconsistent in height. Also the end cuts of many of the boards were not square. It looks beautiful, but you can feel the variation in height when you walk on the floor.

While the finish of the flooring seems fairly durable, the...While the finish of the flooring seems fairly durable, the manufacturing quality is poor. Many pieces are of unequal width, the thickness varies, ends are not all square, some have the end tongue missing, and there is the occasional surface defect that you never see till the piece is nailed in place.

I expect all flooring to have bow and imperfections but this was ridiculous that the gun will pull in but some 4 and 5 footers had over an inch bow. Also widths were off from board to board by as much as 3/16. HD was good about taking it back, but what they should do is talk to the manufacturer about their quality or dump them

The floor does look nice now that I have it down, but I wish the quality control was better and some longer boards to help speed up installation.

The wood is beautiful, but I do not understand the...The wood is beautiful, but I do not understand the 1/16” variation in the width of the boards, and why the ends of some pieces are not quite square, leaving MANY small gaps to fill. I am sure the boards are milled in a machine, so I don’t think there is a reasonable excuse for the variation.
