Great Transition With Easy Install
This transition was used between a lower wood floor in the living room and higher tile floor in the kitchen. The home is very old and no other transitions had the height needed as most were for carpet. There were several options with pre stained versions in the wood flooring section, but they were much too long and expensive.
The Piece cut easily even though it was very hard wood. The plastic track system doesn't need to be used and most of the time I do not use them (trim nails used) but I used the track for this install due to it being a very high traffic area. It cut easily (you can even use scissors). I screwed the track into the lower floor and then popped the wood piece in pushing down from left to right. I left the piece as is, but it could easily be stained with poly or painted with floor paint to match.

Needs better quality assurance
Wood was bowed, which was overcome once nailed to the floor. Glad I didn't need the whole 36". At least two inches on the end didn't have the same finish cut. None of this was visible due to packaging
If circumstances had been different, I would have returned it.
