An expensive continuity tester.
Save some money and buy a ohm meter instead. An ohm meter with a continuity setting will provide future use on other electrical projects. This circuit tester is specific for checking for floor heating element shorts only. The instructions literature actually advises that an ohm meter be used.

Seems to work
I tested the circuit of the thermostat (heat sensor) wire & the meter tells me it's OK. I haven't put power to it yet, so I don't know if it actually works
