Have installed this product before, the product I just installed was poor quality, I feel. I have had this product in my home for over 20yrs, and decided to finish a additional room with it. Ordered it on line cause you no longer carried it in house. Finished was not acceptable ( thin ). Thank you

Love it enough to use in whole house
We got this to put in our foyer as a test - we had used a previous hardwood in our bedrooms and had tons of trouble with it. This looks great, and we had no problems at all. All the widths matched up, as did the tongue and grooves. Very little waste, out of four boxes, we only had about four pieces with major blemishes or bows, and were even able to cut out some and use some of those pieces, too. It took us 12 hours to do 80 sq ft.

I will never buy this company's flooring again. I ordered 14 boxes. Out of that, there were more than 2 boxes that were almost 100% unusable, as they had very little or no tongue on the T & G pieces. I also believe that Bruce flooring knew they were selling garbage when they packed it, because the top layer of wood pieces were fine; but as soon as I took the top pieces off, every single piece under it had either little or no tongue, and was completely unusable. It actually looked like they were hiding all the bad boards under good ones. Additionally, none of the long boards were straight; they were all varying degrees of bowed. I can probably work with a bowed piece, but I don't know too many people who can work with a board that has no tongue. Bruce, do you just have lousy quality control, or did you instruct your workers to pack and sell entire boxes of flooring with no tongue?

Most wood was in poor condition. They shouldn’t sell this flooring. It’s beyond “distressed”. Understand some knots but majority of my first few boxes couldn’t be used.

Great Price, OK Product
Like other reviewers I got this stuff on sale for an amazing deal. Bought 28 boxes for $61.29 each to install in our kitchen, living room and hallway.
I had never installed hardwood before so I don't really have anything to compare to, but the number of boards with unusable ends/bows/twists/knots etc. seemed slightly high. After installing 10 boxes (220 ft²) in the kitchen I had 1½ boxes (33 ft²) of 'bad' boards. I know this because I placed them back into an empty box as I discovered them.
I was eventually able to use up 90% of those, mainly due to necessity (would've run out otherwise) towards the end of the installation so I can't exactly say they were unusable. They just required some creativity in hiding their flaws.
All in all though, the floor looks great, and we love the light color because of how easy it is to keep it looking clean as compared to the darker finishes out there. And the finish seems like it will hold up for a long time too.
one final word of advice; if you're installing more than 500 ft², and you don't have much experience, don't rent the flooring nailer, just buy one. I rented and ended up paying about $550 in rental fees. I could've bought a new flooring nailer, a new palm nailer and still had some left over. You've been warned.
