Great exercise mat!
I do plyometric DVD programs in my lower level on carpet. I use this on top of the carpet. The mat stays in place well although it may need to be adjusted slightly every week or two. I didn't like it too much at first but I really like it now! I guess it just takes some getting used to.
FYI: for plyometric exercising, rubber is too hard and foam is too soft. This mat is what is recommended for plyometric types of exercise. My area is not 10' so I leave part of it rolled up against the wall. The 8mm thickness is just right. A softer mat might be used if you're on your knees frequently. I don’t find it a problem. I do use a yoga mat on stretch days though.

Workout space NOT for dropping 30 lb.+ weightsMy wife and I purchased several of these for our new workout space. They seemed fine for a while but as we started to use over 30lb. weights it got nasty. This was partially over concrete and wood the wood dented underneath and the rubber tore and like sm. tears where the weights hit over the concert. Anything over 30 lbs. put sm. at first cuts/dents in the rubber after a short time (enough not to return them) we decided to cover it over with 4ft by 6 ft-3/4" HD rubber mats. I wish this had been our first choice. Now even my new 45 lb. dumbbells just bounce off without a mark and the sound is much less below. Be sure your floor can support the weight (these are heavy) and the last floor you will need to buy. A word of caution the shipping of these can be pricy but they're well worth the carefree results.

Floor MatThe floor mat itself is great. It provides enough cushioning for using my weight machine. There are a couple of minor tears in the edge. Ordering it online wasn't too difficult, just kind of tedious. The only problem lies in the inconsistent pricing. When I completed the order, the price was quoted as $184 and change. The confirmation email listed the price as $185 and change. The amount actually charged to my card was $186 and change. The difference wasn't enough to make any difference, but it did require a correction after the fact in my checkbook. Home Depot should list an accurate price and stand by it.
