Color completely wrong
The product itself is fine. The only problem is the color. I ordered onyx green and it is a medium grey. I installed black river rock (small) above the master bathroom shower enclosure and needed green grout to match the other colors already completed in the remodel. The grout in the bag is very green and When I mixed it up it looked dark grey/green. I knew it would lighten once dried but never would have guessed the green would not show at all. I installed each rock one at a time and am not going to tear it all down and start over. I'll live with the wrong color as the final color is not too bad but just not what I wanted. I now realize I should have done a small section but after taking 3 months to put up the rocks(I only worked on it a few days a week due to my schedule) I got impatient.
Overall, the product is good but I consider color a major factor when selecting grout and this is why I give it a rating of one. If color doesn't matter to you, I rate this a five.

Told me it was from hard water. Even when I told him I didn't, he disagreed. I said 'put it on the label that demineralized water is recommended'. He told me 'no manufacturer puts a negative statement on there label like that'. Said to apply an acid treatment to grout (additional $$). If that didn't work, then I am to apply a stain (more $$). All products they recommend of course, is there's. So acid treatment was a complete waste of time and money, and am now waiting for Home Depot to ship me the stain. Color is not carried in store. Can't believe Home Depot would sell this product. Look online at all the problems people are having with Polybend grout. Wish I did!

The color was perfect when wet but as it dried the color faded to a light grey. I called customer service and was told the reason the color lightened was due to efflorescence. When you wet the grout it turns back to the original color and to get the grey off you have to "remove the efflorescence". That was all well and good and I followed their instructions to remove it with a grout haze remover. It didn't change the color at all but it cleaned my floor really well. They are sending me a free grout renewer so that's nice but it would have been much better if the grout stayed the color is was meant to. If you want to spend an extra 5 hours or so fixing the mistakes of the grout due to no fault of your own feel free to use this product. I know I will be staying far FAR away from this grout in the future. I used sable brown grout and have pictures of the parts that dried okay and the parts that turned grey. Hopes this helps some people out there.

Unsatisfactory Product and Customer Service. This product was installed on 600 sq feet by a seasoned professional... The product had excessive efflorescent and maybe 50% of the darkness as any of the color chips once installed. During the installation contacted the mfg for advice, they blamed the water... After testing various amounts of water as well as using only distilled water to mix and sponge finish with zero changes to the outcome, we completed the project. Now we are faced with spending the time and $'s to acid wash the area... not an easy chore, as it is outdoors, and surrounded by a 50 year old manicured garden and we will need to be 100% confident that there is zero spillage... The cost of this step will exceed the cost of the product.
Because of the lack of concern by the manufacturers customer service and completely unacceptable performance of the product, I will personally and professionally never use or rely on any products from Custom Building Products. I will also openly recommend that others avoid using their products based upon my personal experience.

I am very unhappy about the consistency of the grout. As you can see in the attached photos, the color can be randomly gray or almost black in one tile! Since a lot of them are in the same tile or nearby tiles, I do not think it is because of the timing. Since most of the grout turned out to be light grey, can someone tell me how I can turn the black back to light grey. I am really SAD to see how it turned out. I just want one grout color throughout my floor :-( Is that a simple request??

Don't buyAfter grouting an entire home with it, we realized it dries a completely different color. Home depot told us it's the manufacturers issue to call them. I did, and after 30 minutes of waiting on the phone, he said that is normal with that product and says so on their bags. It requires an acid cleaner to be applied 7 days after its cleaned by scrubbing the grout lines to get it back to the normal color. I'm a local contractor that has only bought by building products from home depot for years, after this issue and other recent ones, I can say I'm finished with home depot.

We ended up with an ivory/white color and it looks hideous next to our multi shaded beige and brown tile. At first, I thought it was because sunlight was shining on it but during the evening, it looked even whiter. My husband measured and everything was done correctly. Now we have to dye the grout in a large room of tile. Change the colors on the bags to be a real representation, Polyblend Grout!!!

Worked great for both projects with excellent color uniformity from bag to bag. Mixed a bit thick for vertical surface projects, and stayed in place and adhered to the edges of tile very well. Relative to other sanded grouts, this seems to clean up very easily even from rough tile surfaces.
