This product needs a review
I ordered his flooring at a lower price and the next day Home Depot raised the price by 50% of what it was. After some time with my sample piece, I understand why they feel it's worth more. This is not shiny or sticky at all. It is not as scratch resistant at the shiny stuff but, well let me explain...
The cheaper wood look plank vinyl made by printing the wood design on basically paper and putting that paper design on top of a dark colored fiberglass vinyl base and covering it with a clear shiny vinyl with texture that is supposed to match up to the print but usually doesn't.
This stuff is different.
This stuff has a thicker top layer of integrated printed vinyl. It's not clear on top of a print, it's a full layer where the vinyl itself is colored and designed. That layer sits in fiberglass and there is a hard foam backing on the bottom.
This is one solid sheet so you will never be bothered by spaces in between your planks.
Also, even through this does scratch easier than some of the cheap, shiny stuff I described above, the scratches look like scratches in wood. I tested my sample by keying it up and even taking a butter knife to just so I would know. It scratches with everything, but because the the vinyl is colored and thicker, and not just thin clear vinyl over a paper print, it keeps the coloring the way wood would when scratched. Some of the other stuff may not scratch as quickly when keyed for my demonstration, but when that very top does give it leaves ugly black spots where the fiberglass, or rubber, or whatever, shows on the surface.
This product will hold up much better to resist chipping because of the thicker colored vinyl layer also
Bottom line, if it's what you want then get a sample and put it to the test!
I would recommend so far, but I'm saving one start to see how the full sheet holds up when installed in my home. If I change it to 5 stars it means that enough time has passed and things are going very well with it.
