Not magical, but does the job, keeps finished wood looking like new, and seems to last. I bought this to touch up some scratches on an espresso-colored Ikea shoe cabinet that sits by our front door. It's in a high traffic area and the finish isn't bulletproof, and with two young kids, it didn't take long before the cabinet started showing signs of wear. This stuff works as advertised -- it's not a filler, more like a stain, but you can put on multiple layers and darken up scuffs and scratches, buff it to even out any lap marks, and you're done. It dries fast, and once it's on, the color doesn't seem to rub off. Haven't tried it on anything vinyl or laminate, so can't vouch for how well it performs on synthetic surfaces, but on wood, it certainly helps keep things looker newer for longer. Recommended.

I have a lot of Mahogany laminate flooring made by Bruce. The key to making it look good is to put a conservitive amount on and let it dry. It tends to dry a little darker than it starts out and the more you put on, the darker it gets. It has both a fine point and large side for bigger gashes. I would suggest only using the fine point because the big one is hard to control. It didn't work so well on large holes, though I don't think anything would. It' probably not possible to get it perfect. It worked great on the smaller nicks and masked it beautifully. On the larger gaps I would suggest a black sharpie so it looks like a knot instead of trying to get the color perfect.

Covers up Minor ScratchesI used this to cover some scratches on my dining room table. Some of the scratches were only in the varnish, while others went down into the wood.
If you follow the instructions, the pen works well.
The pen has a wide and a narrow tip. Make sure you color only where the scratch is. If there is any overflow, wipe off the excess. On one scratch, I used the wide tip and didn’t wipe off excess, so I have a slight discoloration on the unscratched finish.
I just guessed which color to use. It ended up being a good match. If the repair is not dark enough, you can safely reapply another coat until it’s dark enough.
I found that the pen didn’t help where the varnish was lifted at the edge of the scratch. A little spray furniture wax helped that.
Overall, it does the job!

The pen is basically a magic marker, with a wide felt tip on one end and a fine tip on the other. I carefully read the instructions before using the pen. In doing my touch ups, I found the finer tip was easier to control. It's also important that you immediately remove any of the color that you get outside of the mark you are fixing. I had trouble matching the wood hue on my mahogany pieces, but the marker did a good job of covering up wear and tear on my darker wood furniture. The marker is definitely an easier way to repair scuffs and marks, but, for me at least, the results were uneven.

It worked very well wherever the scratch was deep enough to expose the wood underneath the varnish. It did not cover so well where something had rubbed against the woodwork and left a mark that did not penetrate to the wood underneath. My conclusion is that this works well as a stain for matching a wood stain or varnish, but will not work (like a paint) as well to cover a mark on the surface of the varnish. I drew arrows on masking tape in the before and after photos because, as you can see the scratch is nearly impossible to find after use of Scratch Cure.

I had to cover up scratches on a customers wood floor that a dresser being slide out had caused, they were not deep but they did show quite easily. The pen worked on them with no problem at all and that made the customer very happy.

scratch coverWe got a new cat who was not yet declawed . One day I came home and discovered the cat had scratched up the brand new stair railing I had just finished staining and poly coating 2 weeks before . Needless to say I was not a happy camper . I decided to try the scratch repair pen and the results where very good . You have to follow the directions and wipe the surface after applying it to the scratch And let it dry . This only takes like 15 minutes , then reapply if you want it darker . I got the repair to match the stain almost perfectly . I was very satisfied with the result .
