do not buy this floor!
We bought this floor two years ago and from the get go, it got scratched and got a certain kind of mark that dulls the finish that does not come off the vinyl. The "wood" veneer is peeling away from the actual vinyl on some corners. It looks beautiful at first, but is definitely not durable to withstand, a dog or two kids (scratches so easy I would ask the children to play on the carpet-to save the floor). This would be for people who don't walk on their floors :).
The floor is a matte finish and I don't know if that is the problem, but even when the floor is clean, it looks dirty because of these marks(especially when the sun hits it). The guy informed me at the distributors (HALSTEAD NEW ENGLAND) of the Allure flooring that scratches and marks on the floor are NOT typically covered in the 25 year warranty....and that it is considered normal wear and tear...realIy after two years of babying the floor and it still looks, bad? I'm putting a claim in today, hoping someone Home depot or the Halstead New England distribution place will honor their products.

difficult installationDon't let the install video fool you. This product is extremely difficult to install if you expect good results. The locking tabs along the edge are very fragile and break off, making installation even more difficult. Plan for a frustrating installation process and have several blades for your knife because it will become dull very quickly.

The good and the badHome Depot is for the handy or the professional. The product lines are great values but the installation services are bottom-tier.
I researched the LVT (luxury vinyl tile) extensively and called on Home Depot because I could see the actual product in my home store in Yonkers, NY, and speak to a knowledgeable sales person who assured me that the person who came to measure. Y appointment for a fee would be able to answer site specific questions n my Florida condo.
The courteous man who came to measure said that was all he did. The very next morning I was called with a quote. This person could answer my questions theoretically but not specific to my site. If I ordered, the installer would answer my questions. Since my question was whether or not to install over ceramic tile and over adjacent areas previously carpeted, the measuring would change. The man sent to measure would only measure what he was sent to measure.
Installation is only that. I would need to dismantle all beds, move bookcases and dressers and make the space available for the workers. On a 1600 square foot apartment , we would have to hire a mover to take furniture in and out.
I have hired a contractor whose stepped up price includes of course a premium on the tiles and any other materials and the time and labor to move furniture and replace furniture.
The product is terrific. Their "installation " is barebones.
