Cal-Flor VaporBlock is designed to be used under floating hardwood and laminate floor underlayments to prevent vapor from coming up through the subfloor to your flooring. VaporBlock is 6 mil polyethylene film with adhesive positioning tape to create a minimum of 3 in. overlap. Covers 6 ft. x 25 ft. for a total of 150 sq. ft.

I replaced the flooring in one of my basement bedrooms and when I pulled up the old laminate, there was no vapor barrier. I figured as much before I started the redo as the existing laminate flooring was starting to warp a bit on the edges of each piece. It wasn't anything major, but noticeable and an obvious sign of improper installation to begin with. This vapor barrier applies easily enough. The adhesive strip for "easier" overlay does make the overlaying easier, but you do need to be careful and take your time. If you pull the backing off and let the adhesive part touch where you do not want it, you will see that it is tricky pulling it off to re-position. But that's actually a positive if you ask me. It shows me that the tape part is actually good quality and will hold. I would absolutely use this product again and recommend it to others. Just a note - this is purely for vapor, as in a basement floor that is below or on grade. You wouldn't use this for sound or any other application above grade.

I used this on a basement floor that is usually pretty dry but sometimes feels a little moist; nothing serious, but still I wanted to protect the engineered bamboo I was using. It worked easily under the floor and I'm sure will protect it for many, many years.

I have done quite a few hardwood laminate floors throughout the years and i would always recommen...I have done quite a few hardwood laminate floors throughout the years and i would always recommend to put a vapor barrier over the sub floor before installing the laminate. This vaporblock is this and easy to apply and at 25' in length it is super easy to work with. For it being 6 mil it feels more durable than other underlayments i have used in the past

I actually got this to use as underlayment for painting. It is a little thicker than regular pai...I actually got this to use as underlayment for painting. It is a little thicker than regular painting underlayment and should hold up better. It is a milky semi-opaque material that is easy to work with. The roll is compact and unravels nicely. There is not a lot that can be said about a roll of plastic film. It is a high quality and I would recommend its purchase.

The instructions stated that installation required a vapor barrier. This was a fantastic choice! Very easy to work with and love the fact that it comes with a sticky side that can be stuck to itself creating one continuous barrier. Easy to roll and work with. Highly recommended!

This is much thicker, heavy and with good materials. To use as an underlayment for wood floor should be a good vapor barrier. For my purpose it is a good protection because of I have an underlayment without vapor barrier. I am using it with my existing unverlayment to have better sound and vapor protection wood floor.

POLYETHYLENE VAPOR BARRIER UNDERLAYMENT FOR HARDWOOD LAMINATE FLOORS is an excellent, durable and useful product, and not just for laminate floors. It has an adhesive edging, so you can seal several sheets together. the 6 foot wide makes it easy to use, and the thickness of the gauge makes it easy to work with.
