disappointedafter about a dozen cuts, tile started breaking in wrong places and rendered the tile useless, then wouldn't cut at all, because the base had bent and the cutting wheel was no longer in contact with the tile.

Bought this about a year ago, and only used it once. I cut 10 tiles successfully, and then the mounting brackets snapped in half on the 11th. Spend an extra $20-30 on a better one.
Looks like a steel BASE, but some cheap composite metal for the mounting brackets.

Worse than 1 Star - DO NOT BUYWhere to start? This thing is absolute junk - do not buy! Mine bent the first time I pressed down to cut a tile. After 6 tiles the cutter just magically gave up scribing a line and the thing wouldn't snap a tile.
