We spent weeks deciding what carpet to install in our new home last year. It's a major purchase and you hope to make a good choice! After several consultations with Home Depot, we chose the Trendy Threads II carpet because it looked and felt great and was recommended by the employees, particularly because of it's warranty. We were initially very pleased with our purchase but after about 6 months we began to notice that the carpet was looking very worn and matted down in our regular traffic areas (hallways, paths through bedrooms, etc). It no longer felt plush and soft and we could see the seams in doorways and along our long hallway. We began the process of pursuing a warranty claim with Home Depot (noting the loss of carpet texture retention as worded in our warranty). We had the carpet professionally cleaned and had an independent inspector come out to look at the carpet (a process that took another several months). In his opinion, the carpet was unusually worn and he submitted his recommendation. Unfortunately, Home Depot and/or the manufacturer decided that our carpet showed "normal wear" and our claim was not recognized. We are very disappointed that within 18 months of our carpet installation, the new carpet looks worse than the old carpet we still have downstairs in our home. I would not recommend this carpet at all!
