This Dixon Run laminate flooring is a nice upgrade to any outdated or worn floor. This was installed to replace other cheap old wood look laminate. This Dixon Run flooring is so much nicer and was pretty easy to install.
After removing the old flooring, underlayment and baseboards, the new installation could begin. The boards locked together in a running board pattern. No two rows should have seams side by side. They snapped together easily and used laminate glue and tape when some separated during install.
The color is called weathered oak. It is a medium brown with some light striations running through. There are some knot and distressed designs, but they were printed and were smooth to the touch unlike real hardwood. The boards are eight mm thick and almost five mm wide. There are almost twenty one sq ft to the case.
This laminate can be installed over wood or concrete. Radiant heating can be used under this flooring. A plus on cold surfaces. An appropriate underlayment should be used. I used a recycled felt with a vapor barrier for sound suppression. I will upgrade the moldings as well for a new look.
This flooring has a twenty five year warranty.

This is not my first flooring from KronoTex, but the third and fourth from them!
I installed a KronoTex product in my kitchen 4 years ago and it still looks great. This is after being subject to heavy traffic and a Rottweiler to boot!
This Weathered Oak is beautiful as you can see by the picture I took (beside the Sherwood Heights Pine). I plan on using this for a wall accent, mixed in with another KronoTex flooring called Sherwood Heights Wilson Pine. If you plan on mixing different styles, be aware that not only do you need the same manufacturer along with the same thickness. But also you SHOULD have the same width. You do not need the same lengths. Since mine isn't from group in width, I will have to run solid rows of each. This is because it will not align if you want to place just one or two planks of a different style.
I can attest to the durability of KronoTex, simply I've had it for 4 years.
This product is made in the USA, and comes with a 25 year warranty rated as A3 Heavy Residential Traffic.
If you've never installed KronoTex, I suggest searching YouTube for a video.
This is a highly recommended product.

Extremely easy to install, and locks together nicely, without worrying about seams or gaps. Cutting to size is always an issue with laminate flooring but this cut easily and was not an issue with the install. The coloring is consistent, a bit lighter than expected but still worked very well in the room. The grain pattern is very natural and mimics real lumber nicely. Very durable as we have 6 people in the house and a dog running around.
