Very soft laminate, manufacturer doesn't stand behind product
We were very excited to get our High Gloss Pacific Cherry by Hampton Bay/Home Legends flooring. The excitement soon turned to disappointment in the flooring. We purchased laminate because of the supposedly durability. I would classify Hampton Bay/Home Legends flooring as very soft. After only three months we have 38 little dings throughout the house. Home legends sent one of "their" inspectors out to inspect the flooring. Claim came back denied. Wished I would have read some previous reviews that warned that Home Legends will not stand behind their product. We purchased a cheaper laminate flooring from Home Depot about 5 years ago for the downstairs den and it still looks great, no dings or anything. The cheaper laminate is far superior to the more expensive Home Legends that we purchased. I hope this review helps someone else from making the same mistake that we made. We are saving up to replace this 3 1/2 month old flooring but we will be steering clear of Hampton Bay/Home Legends.

Regret from
Do NOT get these floorsI can not stress enough how much I would discourage people from buying these floors. The only reason I gave it 1 star is because I'm not able to give it 0 stars.
We have no install or durability issues, they have held up fine for the first year....no issues there.
BUT, they are IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean. Impossible. Every single thing shows up on them and they always look dirty. It's because they have so much gloss. I would HIGHLY suggest getting a floor that has less gloss. Every single spot, every footprint and every spec of stands out like a sore thumb. It is magnified in light. If you are putting these in a house with a lot of natural light, I suggest looking at something else. If you are putting these in a home with a dog, I suggest looking at something else. If you are putting these in a home with kids, I suggest something else.
These floors are my biggest financial regret in my life.
Again, do NOT get these floors.

My grandson and a friend have done most of the work. Luckily my future SIL was here early on too, cause they started out wrong and he was able to get them on the right track. The product looks great! We've had minimum problems. Each bedroom has been laid in a day. In fact this one needed a piece of sub flooring replaced, which required a trip to 2 stores and about 4 hours. Boards are not flimsy, the connections are strong. Very happy.

Good Flooring, but...I love the finish and look of this flooring. It was pretty easy to install, BUT... The quality control of this flooring is horrible. I had to reject more than 15% of a 1200 SF floor due to manufacturing defects. I'm hoping HD will accept a return for a replacement. Like other reviewers have said, when laying the floor, inspect every piece before you put it down. Most of my rejects were due to a heavy industrial grease smudge that appeared to be baked on. Usually, the grease was accompanied by scratches to the finish. Minor grease marks could be cleaned off with a lot of effort - scrubbing hard with a soft cloth and Varsol - then alcohol and water to remove the Varsol. Other defects included separation of the top lamination at some corners. Do not count on the advertised trim molding to actually match. It won't. It's a different finish (not as hard and is much more prone to chipping), a different substrate, and a different color. The stair nose molding is particularly troublesome because it wasn't designed for use with this floor (even though the product says so). The stair molding is designed for flooring that does not use a pre-attached foam backing, which this flooring has.

Beautiful Floor! BUT!!!We had this floor installed a year ago. It is very beautiful and durable. Ended up with only a couple "wrinkled" edges but a fine job for a continuous 1200ft install. BUT..
I will agree with the one bad review posted here. This is a VERY high gloss piano finish flooring. If you have a lot of natural lighting as we do, it will show EVERY footprint, speck of dust, sand, etc. That's what you get for the beauty of it. A lot of cleaners will leave a haze on it and we are still currently trying to find one that suits the use. We even bought a Shark (junk BTW). Overall we are very happy with it. I think the horrible review must have changed from carpet and never realized how much dirt is actually brought in from outside.

Pacific CherryFirst Time install took a little thought but other reviews help with pit falls of installing. Anchor the first row as some one said is a good idea as when you hammer in joints completed portion moves even with spacers. planning layout and cuts helps. Order had 8 sq ft. extra and I ended up with 2 complete pieces. Some pieces had damage used them in end and beginning rows. product is good and looks beautiful. Be careful as it will scratch I would buy more of it. Just follow directions.

Excellent productThe Home Legends Pacific Cherry laminate floor is an excellent product. It was what I chose to modernize my home and it completely changed the atmosphere in my living room. It is well made and durable and carries a 50 year warranty. It is a beautiful product that I am very pleased with. One thing to be aware of is if you plan to install this product yourself, it takes more time than what the online instructions lead you to believe. If you are going to do it correctly and your room is of significant size, then it takes longer than a few hours like the instructions say. There are many cuts to make and that is time consuming and tedious work. It is all well worth the end results, but just be aware that you may not be able to throw it down in an afternoon. I put down 400 sq ft and it took 15-20 hours with 2-3 people working steadily.

Excellent Choice Very Classy LookThis Floor was put in by myself, and a 13 year old.
It was easy, and fun.
The finished product throughout my Living room, and Hallway is absolutely stunning!!!
I want it in all my bedrooms now, and I will do just that.
I have three young children, two hyper bulldogs, and many visitors in and out, and this floor can take the beating and keep on shining.
One recommendation is to only use the cleaners from Bruce Laminates, or what is specified on the box, some cheap cleaners can leave a residue that will have you scrubbing to get your illustrious shine back. But believe you me it WILL come back.
Excellent product. Glad to see it is still around. I purchased this when it came out last year and was worried it would have a short shelf life at the HD.
