Installs well, looks beautiful, BUT...
This is a beautiful looking product. The problem is, even after carefully following the instructions regarding conditioning the wood to the installation area, after a few months, in one area, it started cupping. Now it's happening randomly in many other areas and is getting quite noticeable. This is not a very stable material. It's also a very soft material. If you drop a TV remote from coffee table height, it can dent it. It's not a surface suitable for a kids playroom or bedroom... they will ruin it. Even adults need to be very careful to never drop anything on it. I think it's a good value for the short term, but if you plan on staying in the house for a while, it's just not stable or durable enough. In retrospect we wish we had gone to a higher quality material, but were seduced by its good looks and low price. We installed almost 1800 square feet of the stuff so our buyer's remorse is pretty intense.

Flooring went down great. Homeowner was overwhelmed with the finished product. Floor was easy to work with and had no issues. I will use this floor again.

Good value for the money
The flooring is a good bargain for a thick, good looking, wood like floor. I agree with AnaBanana that the adhesive is expensive ($150 for 4 gallons now), with no gallon option. You must use all of the 4 gallons at once. Supposedly, you have a limited time to use the remainder, but that assumes that you can reseal the can - which is impossible. Some boards were warped up and down that made them difficult to attach to the boards next to them. (Yes, the boards were acclimated, as per instructions.) At least one box had the tongue and groove ends swapped from the normal. Several times we did not notice this until after we had laid them in the adhesive because of the rush to lay boards before the adhesive lost its tackiness. Really messy getting them out and then trying to reuse! This just points to poor manufacturing and quality control procedures.

Great value at the per-pallet sale price
We used 18 ga. cleats to nail this to the subfloor, using a pneumatic-assist nailer. We used both table saw and miter saw to make the custom cuts that were needed. There is some color variation both within and between boxes on the same pallet, but nothing extreme. We followed directions, opened several boxes and selected boards at random. With all of the boards exactly the same length it takes a bit of planning to avoid having a stair-step pattern develop as you lay the floor, but we didn't find it a problem. Our boards were straight, we had no "blems" in the form of dings, tongue damage or whatever. It's probably too soon to tell if the floor will suffer scratches or dents, but we've minimized the possibility by buying those little stick-on felt pads for all the furniture feet.

Good value for the money
While time-consuming to install, was well worth the effort. The only reason I would not give it 5 stars is there is no lot number on the boxes and there was some variation in color from lot to lot. In fact, one box had boards with different lot numbers in it. I opened all the boxes and made sure the boards were scrambled while installing so I would not get blocks of different colors. It produced a somewhat variegated look which I like.

Beautiful Flooring at a Fraction of the Cost
This bamboo is beautiful! And it costs a fraction of what other hardwoods and even new carpet would cost. It matches well with pine and oak fixtures I have stained and finished to a similar color. The shipment arrived quickly and the delivery driver was very friendly and helpful. Some tips he told me: Make sure to acclimate the wood (we acclimated it for a day and a half). Unpack the pallet and bring the boxes into the room where it will be installed; unwrap the plastic off of each box, and stack it so air can flow around each box (I have attached a photo of this). The boards are packed nicely; I found no damaged boards through all the boxes.
It was easy to install; I rented a hardwood floor nail gun. I recommend renting as these will cost several hundreds of dollars new, and Home Depot also does not sell the L shaped nails recommended for this floor (although I did not check to see if they had them online.) Where you rent the nail gun will likely have nails. Another thing you will need is a rubber mallet and some scrap wood to hammer them into place before nailing. Some wood glue to do the last couple rows as the nail gun will likely not fit against the wall. A table saw or a handheld circular saw will do nicely to cut these down to size (I used a circular saw). A jig saw, hack saw or bow saw to cut contours around where vents, etc. will go is also necessary. A small handheld one will do the trick. We had two people install, and it took us about 10 hours of work to do about 480 square feet.
Remember to purchase underlayment as well. Also, alternate pulling boards from 3 or 4 different boxes as you lay them. There is some variance of color (not a huge variance, but natural variance a la hardwood) between boxes, so pulling from different boxes as you lay will ensure the boards are distributed randomly.
Also, be sure to watch the product for pricing. The price decreased about a week after I placed my order; Home Depot is very accommodating to price adjustments during the return policy timeframe.

Beautiful looking bamboo
This flooring is very attractive. Installation was fairly simple, with boards fitting, tongue and groove, nicely together. Very few flawed boards. Home Depot was helpful with our selection to putting it on my truck.

FABRICATED
This product is NOT SOLID WOOD. I know Home Legends fabricates two variations of this floor that look similar, one labeled as engineered, and this one labeled solid. Basically it boils down to a marketing ploy.
I purchased 1400 sf of this “solid” floor based on a recommendation from the sales associate at HD. Like many of the reviews on this site, she pointed out the unbelievable deal I could get for real, solid, hardwood floors. She explained all the benefits of going with a thick, solid hardwood; the resale value, durability, ability to sand and refinish if needed. I was sold.
The only problem is none of that was true. I had a water leak which insurance covered, they took a sample of my floor and sent it to ITEL, who runs tests and analyzes this sort of thing for insurance companies across the nation to get an accurate replay cost. They determine the type of flooring, thickness of veneer, who made it, the whole bit. When they came back and said it was engineered wood and not solid hardwood, I thought they had made a mistake, or they are in cahoots with the insurance company. I called Home Legend and ask them if the floor I purchased was solid wood or not. I was told yes, solid hardwood just like the box says, just like I was told when I made my purchase. I then asked, “ is it the same solid hardwood, like solid oak floors”? I was told yes!
Long story shorter, after going around with my insurance company, I called Home Legend back again, this time with my adjuster, asked the same question and got the same answer. However when my adjuster started asking more details questions, we were put on hold for a supervisor, only then to get the real truth. Now after all this time, claims on the box, the sales associate, the story is changing. Supervisor says it is not one piece of wood, but several strains formed together as one piece. There is no filler wood, or partial board in the middle like engineered wood, it’s all bamboo but it’s not what I would call solid either.
It’s an apples to oranges comparison, therefore it’s not the amazing deal everyone thinks it is. After all bamboo is a grass, technically its not even wood.
It did look good though once installed but like some others have said it seems to soft. I got indentions in my flooring from rolling my refrigerator out. Not sure how that rates on the JANKA test, but didn’t pass the real world test. I guess you get what you pay for after all.
