Matte white tile used for backsplash
This is a gorgeous, elegant tile. I ordered the matte and glossy in white to go with a creamy-white painted kitchen. The matte was the warmer/creamier of the two, so I went with that one. I had a professional install the tile as I didn't have the time to try it. It proved to be a very labor intensive project, with a LOT of cuts. I had seven outlets and light switches, and a window. I had it grouted with a very similar colored grout, I didn't want it to stand out too much. It is a lovely look, and the scale is appropriate for my 17" high backsplash. I believe the tile was shipped from the maker. They did a great job of packaging the tile for shipping. It was in a large box with tons of spray to fit foam in plastic bags, then the tiles sheets were individually packaged in plastic and cardboard in an inner box with bubble wrap. Not a single damaged tile in the 39 sheets that I ordered.

Good shape bad finishPurchased 40 sqft for a backsplash. On arrival, I inspected all, and found 14 sheets of tiles with a majority of the individual tiles chipped. Half of the remaining sheets of tiles had additional chips, or poorly done see through thin glazing. I called depot immediately, and they sent out an additional 14 tiles. This combined with the fact that I ordered an extra 6 tiles to begin with should allow me to complete this backsplash, replacing individual pieces as necessary. Haven't tried cutting them yet, fingers crossed. Over all, terrible quality tile, I would refuse to install this if there were something similar and better.

We looked at many many different sizes/finishes/shapes of this lantern tile ranging from $5/sqft ...We looked at many many different sizes/finishes/shapes of this lantern tile ranging from $5/sqft to $43/sqft. This one had the nicest matte finish and even when sealed, didn't get a sheen to it like some others seemed to (and it's been well sealed by our contractor). Also we never had any broken/chipped pieces which was our only concern based on another review. We ordered a few extra boxes just in case and didn't have to use them. Honestly, I suspect the only difference between these tiles and some of the more expensive ones we looked at at specialty stone/tile stores is just the branding and markup.
